Belts
-
I just bought an "old bull" belt from saddleback leather. It's made from the tough ass hide of an old bull. I'm enamored with their bags and pretty excited to get one of their belts.
-
Here's the "old bull." It's insanely thick.
-
Saddleback makes nice stuff. I just wish it wasnt made in Mexico, and that the main guy Dave wasnt so arrogant. Kind of rubs me the wrong way.
-
But thats a nice belt. The micro adjustments are a really nice feature.

See, I kind of like his writing, it reminds me of a dear friend of mine from college. He was one of those guys that would wax poetically, drink a pint of oil rig moonshine, start a bar brawl, and roll home with a dark Spanish exchange student. I've never really watched his videos, so that might change it for me. I'm not sure why, but I kind of like that they're made in Mexico for some reason. Maybe I'm brainwashed by how proud they are that that's where they come from.

Terry Dear 'Quercus' belt.
And I thought my IHB-02 was mean, this thing is insane

My new belt from tender co should be here later this week. Whattle dyed with aam enameled keeper.

Just found another version of Anesthetist's belt at Hickoree's, this time with an oxidised buckle.
The trouble with Tender is that they do one-offs for particular stores, and so I'm not sure if this will be available on this side of the Pond.
Another purveyor of leatherwares is For Holding Up The Trousers, which is a small operation in Copenhagen. They did an elasticated belt in collaboration with Tender, but my favourite piece has to be the rifle sling style.

I'd be willing to bet that if you wanted something bad enough, William would be able to help you out. That guy just seems to have a passion for making clothing. I just bought their watch and a pair of jeans this past week. I might be addicted…
-
I suspect you're right Anesthetist.
Which jeans did you get? I got a pair of the unborn (raw) Tender 130s from Tenue de Nimes that have stealth stitching. The only trouble is that they shrank a lot more than I expected, and now I need to get my waist down to a 34 or 35 to fit into them.
We need to revive the Tender thread…

I got my IHB-03 buckle back from Terry Dear a few days ago. I bought a belt through the forum but needed to get the belt length changed.
Really pleased with the results and Terry is a great guy to deal with, answered all my e-mail questions and was more than happy to discuss the work with the belt.
The belt is made from 15 oz Oak tanned leather in a natural colour. Hopefully it should age and patina beautifully.
I asked him to replicate the style of the IH strap as closely as possible, I think he has done a great job, even managed to replicate the stitch pattern.
