So if anyone is convinced, I am still up for these:

You mean this one
This boot is amazing, I love the brown waxed flesh leather!
My favorite Viberg Boot, I bought it last year with another pair, horween calico grey -
my second pair - horween calico grey with flexible vibram sole

Is that the calico grey on the tongue as well? I've been contemplating a pair of grey boots. Not sure I want rough out, though.

I think so, I´m not a "specialist" with the leather typ
s It look
s like the grey calico, the tongue is very thick, same as the rest of the leather.
this rough out is unbelievable, the best I´ve seen -
This is my first post on the board! I'm a huge Viberg fan and resident of Victoria, BC, so I'm right in the heart of Viberg country.
Today I received a pair of Viberg chukkas in aged bark that I got on Ebay for under $400. These are the chukkas that were originally sold at Tate & Yoko, and which now can be found at Barney's. I also have a pair of 4 Horsemen service boots and saddle oxfords, both of which are size 9. The chukkas are size 9.5, but I thought I'd take a chance on them. They definitely fit a bit roomier than the other two pair I have, but I suspect they'll work out fine. I actually find that my service boots get way too restrictive after a day of walking, as my foot swells.
Here are some pics of the new boots:
You may notice that the colour is a fair bit darker than depicted on the Tate & Yoko site. This is because the seller put two coats of Renovateur on them before selling. The colour with the conditioner is nice and rich, but I do look forward to them lightening with wear.
Here are all three of my current Vibergs:
Back at the beginning of December, 2012, I placed an order with 4 Horsemen for a Viberg hiker with custom modifications:
-Chocolate bullhide
-2030 last
-No Thinsulate liner
-Gunmetal hardware
-Vibram Sierra soleI expect that the hikers should be ready within the current month.
-
^I wanted the 4 Horsemen city hiker, but with the smooth leather out, rather than the rough out, and with a lugged hiking sole instead of the wedge. It was just as easy going through them, and their shop is walking distance from my home and work. After talking with Guy, it just made sense.

with winter winding down & a few more miles on them i thought i should share these in their current state:
these soles suck (imho) for wet anything, but i've been fortunate enough to not take a tumble despite wearing them in some pretty sh!tty weather. all in all a great purchase i would make again.
