All Things Mac/ Apple

I have a 15" MBP and, aside from the matte screen, it doesn't give me anything that wouldn't be just as good on an Air. I should point out I don't do any intensive 3D modelling, photoshop etc.
If I could make the choice again I'd go Air.
well that would be something i´d do…a lot! is the screen always matte or is it just that way on yours?
oh and what about buying such things in the 2nd hand market? ^^e
The 15"MBP was the only one with the matte screen option. This was pre retina days (the retina is meant to have less glare than standard glossy but more than matte) and I'm not sure if any models have the option now. It was pricier too.
Apple products generally hold their price well so you are unlikely to get a massive discount. I considered selling mine as I'm keen on the new Airs but keep changing my mind.

How much do you want to spend?
The newly released MBA is a pretty amazing bang for your buck. The new Haswell processor with the PCIe based SSD now allows for 12hrs of battery life(actually has been tested and confirmed) and bumped up specs all around. This is the first time I have ever thought of replacing my Macbook Pro(MBP) with a MBA. But if you'll be doing 3D modeling or any other heavy processing on a regular basis then getting a MBP or iMac would be a better choice.
Anyways, looking through all of the Apple models from the the last few years can get a bit confusing.

The ultimate to me would be a MBA that could Thunderbolt-dock into a docking station with a high-end discrete, replaceable GPU, replaceable hybrid storage, connectors, etc. a Pro in your office and ultimate portability for the road.

Yes, that sounds nice

Photoshop will be more than fine on the MBA. A job that'll take 1 second on a MBP will take 1.1 second on the MBA.
On a 2 year old MBA I'm running Windows 8 for full-office, plus a fully loaded OSX doing all kinds of crazy things and I hardly tax it at all.
MBA's the best value for money / bang for buck at the moment.

One thing I'd love for Apple to enable is the ability to add audio files received as email attachments in iphones or ipads to the itunes library. as it is now, one can listen to attachments but not download them and add them to the itunes library. I think that's fucking annoying and dont understand why it is possible in macs and not ipads or iphones.
another thing: in an i"pad/touch/phone", there is no way to add a particular tune to an existing playlist, change the playing order in a playlist without hooking the device to a computer. that sucks big time
last, why is it so hard if not impossible to have a file management system like "Finder" in portable devices? These devices pack enough firepower (more than old macs that provided such possibility) to do that. Those iOS suck suck suck

I almost never listen to music on my phone :). If I do I use the TuneIn App to stream Bassdrive.com :).

The fact that there are now aps like Audio Bus available, which allows for routing of audio between different aps, along with all the virtual synthesisers, drum machines, samplers etc does make the lack of this basic feature seem pretty odd.

Does any one know why some times on my mbpr when I close the lid then reopen the screen stays black or some times freezers?

No clue, mine did that too.

If its been less than a year just make an appointment and they'll swap you one. Frustratingly, I've probably done this at least 5 times over the iPhones I've had.
