70 pages of reading about GoRuck over @ EDC I'm more than a little concerned about the longevity of their bag. Quite interesting around page 60 is the "Zippergate" where the zippers moved from being made in the US to Taiwan. There's A LOT of bags fraying and being swapped out with almost no usage on that thread/forum…Have you guys checked your straps carefully?

Snowy, could you summarise for us please dude. Reading 107 pages of the EDC Goruck thread aint how I want to spend my Sunday
-
^Yeah, you know, it wasn't how I wanted to spend my Sunday evening, but around page 10 I got hooked, page 30 I was engrossed. From there it was just a jump to the left, as they say.
Summary; Quite a few of the bags GR1 & GR2 have been coming apart, I'll grab a few of the photos after this. It appears that when they outsources to other factories their QC dropped. The material are fine, but the construction's not held up. This all started in mid '12.
Early `13 ZipperGate happened. Huge deal. They stopped source Made in the USA YKK zippers swapped with Taiwan YKK zipper, but never updated the website/details (months after being told). There's never been a real/clear answer as to why as others can refute their reasoning, looks like they were caught out as apposed to them calling it out.
The other vibe on the forum is that they appear to now be an events company that makes good bags, as apposed to a bag company that has events (4Mil revenue last year).

I have been loving mine snow. feels better and better with wear. The front loading is sweet. You can either un zip a little and use like a normal backpack or just slam it open and dump stuff in or out. Will keep you updated on the stitching, will be getting a work out this month and will be busting open on the plane home.

LOL @ zippergate. Im finding that hilarious. Im not surprised in the least that once they outsourced things, it started to go down hill.

Yep, the foam and padded dividers just slide out. This style hard case is pretty standard for all my Pro photographer buddies when traveling. I finally got one.
I checked out the Rimowa's the other day. Sure, they're nice but there's no reason for me to have one right now. Maybe if I need a huge suitcase one day I'll get a 32" but I highly doubt it.
how has the SBK been? I just bought a Pelican 1514 for my camera stuff, and remembered this case as well. I think the pelican is a bit smaller, at this point that is ok by me.

I love it. It's a tank. I've traveled with it probably 6-8 times now and it only has a few scratches on it.

Just received a new Maxpedition FliegerDuffel and am waiting on a Goruck Radio Ruck in the limited edition color, Ranger Green.
Was looking for a nice duffle type bag since I sold my IH duffle. Really liking this multi use bag so far.
What sold me on this was the hidden backpack straps and that it's sized specifically to flight carry-on dimensions.
The moment I saw this colorway I just had to get it.
Edit: They changed the size of the Radio Ruck without being clear on the site. The new Radio Ruck now only fits a 13in Laptop where the old version fit a 15in laptop. I complained to customer service, sent the green radio ruck back and exchanged it for an SK26. Well, a few days after I get that one they release a new GR0 size that's comparable to the old Radio ruck size. Why they didn't just tell me there was a size coming out like that is beyond me. SO, I'm sending back the SK26(it's too big for my height when not completely full and there is no molle to attach compression straps) to exchange for the GR0.

I have a RR in black and its a good bag, I'm sure you will like it.

Im not a fan of all that mollee webbing all over the duffel. I mean, how modular does a duffel need to be. I get it on back packs. Hope your GoRuck isnt a dud.
