Triple Works - The New Jeans World Tour
-
Day 27:
Just finished hand waxing another custom boot for Daniel. I used a really nice bailey crust leather for the upper. I prefer this type of leather because it has been less processed so it retains a lot of natural character.
This is Lee from Whanganui, 3 hours north of Wellington. He is originally from Malaysia and makes jeans there with his friends. We had a talk about working together and I really like him, especially his focus on looking after his family… great guy!
Lee's jeans
Made from 14oz Cone Mills selvedge denim
Once a year the Oyster Caravan sets up in the carpark next to my work. Its run by one of the best restaurants in town and you can get Oysters prepared in different ways with a beer or wine… it goes nuts all night!
My favourite time of the day when my babies come to pick me up!

Create the right environment so he has every opportunity to reach his full potential and develop a plan so he's working towards his goals daily/monthly/yearly.
And I don't speak at him rather I ask if its ok if I tell him what I think.
Thanks for sharing. The more I thought overnight about why one starts smoking, other than the cool/rebel factor, it's usually boredom or denial of 'stuff'. Having positive outlets/activities/opportunities is what I imagined would be the most sensible way forwards. Sounds like he's got a good head on his shoulders if he let himself down.
Back to the tour….thnx again

Great tour leg by a great guy. Hemi made me stray over from the 634 World Tour ever more often. Well done, many thanks.

Day 34:
McLain, we had another scary earthquake today so I couldn't get the jeans out.
Wellington City has pretty much shut down except for the bars which are packed… I assume these are high-rise city apartment residents who are terrified of going home?
Everyone tried to get to their families as soon as possible and the trains have been cancelled so the traffic is in total gridlock, it was lucky I left straight away. Our mobile phones stopped working and I couldn't contact my good lady so I drove to school to find my son. Thankfully, everyone was there and ok.
We're still getting aftershocks and don't know if my nerves can take much more of this?
Me and the family are leaving on a 12 hour drive tomorrow to visit the workshop where I make my boots, so we'll be able to relax... for a few days.
