Honestly they should allow returns on special items. It's not like they won't be able to sell the thing if it still has tags and is in good condition.
They don't accept returns? I always thought their policy is that returns are accepted in exchange for store credit…
-
That is very true. I am assuming that's not what ohighyo wants (refund instead of credit?)
-
Yeah. Not a lot they can do about the inventory side unless its a refund instead of credit.

…which makes my post on supply and demand hilariously even more off topic than mine usually are
For the record… the margins on products we sell have never, not even once, been determined based on demand. The margin on a 3sixteen jean is the same percentage as the margin on a Roy shirt or jean. Roy's products have gone up in price since we first started carrying them because of the fabrics he's started using have cost him far more and more importantly the hours of labor have gone way up.
He CAN make a shirt in 45 minutes, a lot of people can. But when he makes a shirt like this new one, it takes up over 2 hours a shirt. When he was first making jeans he was actually able to make them faster than he is now because they were very straightforward, now he's figured out how to "improve" them and add in more details which he feels make the jean "better" in one way or another. In the end, the price has gone up mostly due to the increase of time spent on each garment with a little bit due to the fabric costs. -

3sixteen Heavy Weight 17oz Denim Jeans
We're excited to announce a new fabric from one of our best selling brands, 3sixteen's new 17oz denim. Over the last couple of years two of our best selling jeans at Self Edge have been the SL-100x and ST-100x from 3sixteen. They're both great cuts in a simple straight forward jean that ages beautifully made of a custom woven Japanese selvedge denim. 3sixteen have now taken those two silhouettes and produced them in a newly developed 17oz sanforized denim. Due to the heavier nature of the denim the jean feels a bit more rigid when new which will lead to even more definition in the fading over time with regular wear.
The new SL-130x and ST-130x are available now at all Self Edge stores, we don't think you can get a better jean at this price from any brand. Check the online store for full spec lists, measurements, and high-res photographs.

Jeans look sweet. Are you shooting these pics with a new camera?

Nope, same camera but using a slightly different editing process which is beyond my understanding.
-
Nice, this new method makes the picture look really life-like. Stick with it!

What happened to the self edge feather rings and bracelets…. Not a fan of the new ones, should have got an Hmace bracelet while I had the chance I guess

H.Mace stopped doing jewelry so another silversmith from the Mace family stepped in to do the feather jewelry. The rings now are actually better because the feather itself it slightly wider making it more comfortable to wear.

Globe Specs x Free & Easy and Globe Specs x Beauty & Youth 2013 Eyewear Collection
From the eyewear line that brought us our favorite frames of 2012…
Globe Specs has just delivered a new set of frames for 2013, one of which is a collaboration with Japan's Free & Easy.We have four new frames, all of which are 100% made in Japan. The steel, acetates, and hinges are all made in Japan with the frames being hand shaped and polished in the end for the perfect feel and fit. The detail on the Free & Easy frame is amazing, especially how the acetate gives way to the steel part way down the temple. The Beauty & Youth frames are made of steel structured acetate with cast silver accents near the hinges, they're classic yet different from other frames on the market. Tetsuya Okada continues to impress us with his ability to design and produce eyewear in Japan.
The three Beauty & Youth frames come with a zippered rip-stop nylon MA-1 jacket inspired case complete with pen slips and a safety orange inner lining. The Free & Easy frames come in a custom hard snap case stamped with the Rugged Museum's logo (Free & Easy's concept space in Tokyo).
All four of these frames are available now at all four Self Edge stores and in our online store, check the product pages for full spec lists and high-res images.

Mister Freedom Blank T-Shirts - Made in California
A couple of months ago we received a small batch of blank white tees from Mister Freedom, they were gone within a week of us receiving them. We've gotten a restock of those white tees along with two new colors which we think are going to be a future staple at Self Edge.
These tees are made of 100% US grown cotton which has been loomed in the US on tubular knitting machines (no side seams). The tees are then cut and sewn in California and have a vintage style fit with sleeves fitting a bit shorter than usual and a boxy fit throughout. These also have a narrow neck-band, like the ones found on tees from the 40's and 50's.
These tees are now available in white, sage green, and navy blue. The white tees come unwashed and shrink down to size, the sage green and navy blue ones have been rinsed during the dying process and do not shrink much at all. Mister Freedom nailed the shade of green and blue on the colored ones, they're beautiful and sure to age well over time.
All three of these tees are available now at all four Self Edge stores and in our online store. Check the online store for high-res photos, measurements, and a full spec list.
