I like that shottie
Finally got my dream shotgun (although I'm going to put the Magpul hardware on it when it comes out)
Mossberg 590A1 20" 8+1 shotshells
Elzetta M60F (215 lumens) on their own mount
XS Big Dot Sight epoxied on
Hogue Foreend and stock
#4 Federal Buckshot
Mesa Tactical sidesaddle (holds 6 shotshells) -
Pretty much an ideal home defense rig. Is the Magpul hardware inclusive of a stock? That will take a little length off for rounding corners, right? Nothing like a pump shottie for clearing a building. The click-clack of the pump alone is a great deterrent to any intruders within earshot. A friend of mine used that trick repeatedly to scare off would-be intruders from his home in the Garden District of New Orleans during the Katrina aftermath.

Yup, comes with both stock and forend. It has different recoil pads to adjust the length of pull
As it stands now, the Mossy has a 12" length of pull, so that's not one of the reasons why I want it. I want it for the CDI factor

I'm not a fan of the racking of the gun to scare off intruders. The only time a bad guy coming into my house will hear the cracking sound this thing makes is after a shotgun blast
This is my "Maryland doesn't have a stand your ground law" gun. The only time it will make an appearance is if someone makes their way to the fourth floor of my town house to attack my wife and stepson. The first three floors is just "stuff" and I'll let the police deal with them as they're trying to take my TV

Shit that looks my call of duty setup!!! I'm not man to pack that kinda steel

Crooks are like sharks, ultimately they're looking to exert as little energy and take as little risk as possible. That's why I think racking is a good deterrent. They'll almost always opt for the easier meat.

I'm more concerned about the nutcases that blitz attack. Its becoming endemic in the DC metro area
The jackasses that broke into my house earlier this year were not at all concerned that I was home. They already commited to a house that wasn't an "easy kill". And we were obviously home, my car was in the driveway
"Almost always" isn't good enough for me

Wellllll, if it don't, there's a shell chambered
You have a rottie too, that should deter at least some criminals

The sad thing is that the rottie was originally picked up as a deterrent…but he's become so important to us...he's going to be behind all of us! He's NEVER going to get hurt, or put in danger
That being said, I don't think any of us can stop him. His protection instinct is really strong and he's incredibly strong for a dog that's less than 9 months old

He's a beaut, feel free to post more pics of him any time. Love Rotties, they are awesome dogs.

Damn you, JSJ stick to your diet, what did I tell you about fast good restaurants.

Speaking of, I'm down about 6 pounds since I got serious about the diet. Doing nothing differently except resisting the urge for cheat meals and no beer ever.

Great job Mcclain. Shit, I feel like the "subway guy" for the forum. Just threw up in my mouth. So disgusted.
