What's your favorite Beer?

Goddamnit I'm trying to quit beer, but I was looking for some Sammy Smith cider for D, and I just couldn't resist these bombers of hop bombs.
Green flash and Stone are two San Diego breweries that I just fucking love. Stone has been in this market for a couple of years now (I missed it sorely before it made it here), but Green Flash has just penetrated this market apparently.
Two San Diego-style DIPAs. Ruination has long been a favorite. This is the 10 year anniversary edition. I presume the Green Flash is the imperial version of their West Coast IPA, a similarly classic, canonical west coast hop bomb. These are SoCal's answer to similarly iconic NorCal brews such as Russian River's Pliny the Elder, which is sorely missed in this market.
Here we go, trying the Green Flash tonight.
Chunky mouthfeel, typical of the style. Aggressive carbonation. A little breadiness, a lot of hoppiness. Grapefruit, tangerines, mint, pine. I don't know what hops they used but I'm not sure they used the canonical Californian ones; Amarillo, cascade, etc. ah never mind it says summit and nugget hops. Unfamiliar with those.
Great beer, not astounding, blow your hair back, did someone just open a bag of funk kind of beer. But great. Glad it's not any better or it would be hard to set aside when I stop being bad and drinking beer.
EDIT: this beer should be served at warmer temps. Like many IPAs, she opens up beautifully.

Used to love me some Stone & Rogue two favorite past times.

This beer bar back home used to do Grateful Dead Guy night. Hippie music and $9 pitchers of Rogue Dead Guy. I rarely missed a night of that.

I'm a hop head and have never had the luxury of GF locally, so it has always been West Coast IPA.
My guess is that they handle other styles well but I don't know, and won't find out any time soon. More than happy to ship you a preview pack if you PM me your address; they had I think an imperial stout and other stuff at the store. I'm shipping ciders to D soon so it would be no trouble.

Have you had any of the other greenflash stuff mclain? It's about to start getting distributed in my area, and I know next to nothing about the brewery…
I've been to the GF brewery in Diego. It's in a very unassuming corporate office building. Stone's brewery in Escondido is a much better visit. In regards to GF, I hope like you hops. Lots and lots of hops.
It's kind of cool to see Stone and GF getting some love on here, though. They were two of my favorite breweries when I lived in SD, years ago.

But first… Hoegaarden Grand Cru... I did not have high expectations of it, and it defo wasn't on any priority list, but I thought to myself "Seul, don't be so closeminded, you eejit!.. Come on!.. Grab a bottle!.. ATTA BOY!.." And hey: it's not bad at all!.. Nothing crazy, but a solid beer!..

I have discovered Brewdog Manchester :). I could leave here broke and paralytic…
