New 18oz denim…....
-
We have had some issues over the years with the stability of the 18oz raw denim. It has proved to be really difficult to control the sizing between production runs. This is not a good thing for you, not a good thing for me and drives Haraki and Tom insane. In an effort to stabilise the variance we have developed a new process which we call dry sanforisation and we are absolutely sure no other company in Japan does this. Effectively it stabilises the denim without changing the inherent character of the denim.
I have just got a load of IHXB01Raw delivered. I am running a shrink test at the moment. Results soon….

I'm picturing a process similar to those patches with illustrations of horsies trying to "draw and quarter" a pair of jeans…

Can I ask why you have issues with stability? And is it just 18 oz?

You say that like it's a big deal. Meh.

Re: The discussion on SuFu. What we are doing is not designed to minimise the shrinking process, it is designed to stop the variance in sizing between production runs. It is s complete pain to make a production run of 400 pairs of jeans and find that they are 1.5" smaller in the waist than the previous run.
