Va Beach? That's less than 3 hours from me!
So funny, in England that means "that is f@(*ing miles away!"
Good luck with the tour Finn.

i finally found my peace and my new motto -> @Snowy:

Lol, good man, still holding it true here. Even said it to my manager's face today as I left him back in the office slaving away for a change. Holidays and life first bro for sure!!!!

Yeah, but traffic in your city is the worst in the state, and has been for years. You should move someplace nicer, like Charlotte.

The exception of course, is when you live in London, like I do

will be passing Charlotte as first and last stop on my way back home when heading back to germany…can't be that bad!
@bagley920 we def. should meet buddy… @tvshooter might be down as well!?
really looking forward to @derivative666, @urbanwoodsman, @madmonday and maybe even @LandoCal126 …if he's in the city!?
my cousin lives 10min. away from NYC so I'm def. going to stay for a week or sth. like that...plenty of time to meet (and guide me around!) -

Both Charlotte and Raleigh are actually pretty nice; for whatever reason, Charlotte folks generally don't like Raleigh and vice versa. Actually, there are a lot of really good reasons to hate Raleigh, but I won't go into them here…

I'm not a fan of Charlotte, haven't spent much time in Raleigh but didn't get the impression I'd like it much either if I were to stick around. Charlotte seems like a town that was on the rise and then the finance bubble kind of gutted it as the banks fled town. This could be a completely inaccurate perception, but it felt like this overbuilt ghost town to me. Not terrible, but not that good either. And for some reason, no decent barbecue to be found.
-
True- BBQ isn't really a Charlotte thing. Finance. Business. Soulless corporate culture. That's more of a Charlotte thing. It's not a bad place, though. Not much in the way of tourist appeal, but a pretty good place to grow up. I was happy to leave and I've never really wanted to go back, but the longer I'm away, the more I can view the city objectively, both for good and ill.
