The FA Premier League (English Football) Official Thread

No offence taken - there's a lot of promise but this season will be one of consolidation rather than barnstorming success I think. Could get very interesting in the fight for 3rd to 8th place in the PL!
Gooner?
-
Yes a gooner. I agree that this season looks like it will be pretty open like last year. It's great to see every game be a real open challenge
-
does this thread include the capital one cup?? cause looking at the results i think i've just lost my mind…
-
I think we can extend the conversation to MU getting tonked by a league one side.
LVG has a huge task on his hands not just in implementing his playing strategies and philosophy, but also building up the mental strength of a team that just appear to have lost it. Not to mention keeping the fans on side. They really need a resounding win soon.
-
It was a young team, but still not an excuse to go down against League 1 opposition.
My team finally scored a goal this season
An own goal by one of Gillingham's defenders
It's going to be a long, hard season ahead….

Can't wait to see how much Liverpool pay for Rolando Aarons in January
-
Being a Norwich City fan and therefore no longer following an EPL based team i'm gonna be cheering on Liverpool in the top flight this season. Despite their decent result at WHL yesterday I still think they will struggle without Suarez's goals and assists plus they could also suffer from Spursitis, where a load of new players fail to replace one exceptional superstar (even if he was a bit of a dick).
Gotta say that i'm loving watching Utd have such a shocking start to the season and can't wait to see the first of the Manchester derbies and their trip to Stamford Bridge. Why is LVG adding Falcao up front when he desperately needs 2 or 3 decent defenders; does he really think Smalling and Evans are up to the task?
As seems to be the general consensus I think the champions will be either City or Chelsea.
-
Man Utd have a Championship standard defence, it is certainly going to be their achilles this season unless a lot is expected of Rojo.
As deadline day is here it seems a familiar story at my beloved SJP as players depart (Yang M'biwa) and nobody comes in to replace them, cue Pardew on MOTD lamenting the depth of his squad after a hard fought point at home to QPR next month in another thrilling 3 - 3 draw….. so fucking predictable
-
And for the (insert ridiculous number) transfer window in a row, Newcastle allow their best player to leave without hope of finding a replacement, yet keep the cretin running the team in gainful employment. Only at Newcastle do you find a business which intentionally weakens itself year after year and delivers an inferior product whilst the customer continue to pay their money…..ridiculous.

I hate international breaks in the Prem. Looking forward to next weekend when Spurs play Sunderland. Certainly an easier opposition than Liverpool >:(.

Arsenal make me want to tear my hair out. Özil is dogging it.
-
Özil is killing Arsenal. He gave up many possessions including a scoring possession for MC. No idea why he hasn't been benched, he's been a disaster.
-
I can sympathise with Ozil, he's a lot like Ben Arfa in the way that if he feels loved and confident then he's a world beater, if not…..

We will see
Yes we will, they have bought well but I'm far from convinced.

In other words, a lack of mental and spiritual fortitude
I think he was also dogging it. The effort wasn't there, and that's harder to forgive.

as an arsenal fan Ozil frustrates me so much… I wish they'd put santi on instead
