Sugar Cane - SC1947 (old style)

Wear them. What good is a rare Whisky bottle that never gets opened and tasted? Why keep a nice SC denim in it's unworn state when you can enjoy their beuaftiful fades? Worn in jeans share your life & memories, a new pair just reminds you of spent money. You will still have a rare (worn-in) pair afterwards.
-
You see that is a good argument the other way too! I am really on the fence on this one. :S
I felt I have compromised, a little, as I have started to wear my old IH-634-SE that I found in the same place basically unworn.
-
Post them for sale to see interest & if none continue 2 keep them on the shelf.
What's the worst if u don't wear em?
Either way I want to see images

@Max:
a new pair just reminds you of spent money.
A new pair reminds me of post luck, experiences, value, respect, and an admiration of the object as it is. As we've discussed before Max, value is in the soul of the owner. For me value does not come through utility-wear, rather it comes through possession itself. Unworn, unlimited potential exists, worn, it's fate is sealed, they are dead :).
-
Fair Point, though I firmly believe that the purpose of these things and objects lies in their use, not just their possession. Now it's up to R_Z to decide which is his side.

Just taken a picture (rather poor picture at that via iphone), just trying to work out how to post on here. :-\

thanks for the effort zip-head.
crappy image is always better than no image :O)
plus i thought you were just a troll playing with our emotions by talking about old deadstock unworn jeans & what you should do with them.
post more pictures. it gets easier, jajajjaja
sorry small keyboard. . . . hahahahaha

I understand both sides on this one. I'm afraid I have the collectors gene that seems to cover, denim and other such covetable vices too. Will take some more pictures when home from DK. I assume other than the tab and pocket stitching, that this model still is the same?!
-
Honestly dude, I wouldn't worry about it since imo those jeans aren't that special. It's not a discontinued cut or fabric, and the only two things different about it are the tab and the arcs (latter of which I'm not even a fan of aesthetically). Wear them if you want to wear sugar canes!
-
Imo at least… but I'd just wait until you really want to wear the to make a decision. If you have a rotation you're happy with then there's no sense in brazenly opening and wearing something that you might regret later, especially if you're no feeling the itch to really break them in now.
-
Thanks chaps, you've given me some good things to consider here. As you say, onthe basis I have a current rotation, and have now added some old IH which I hadn't been wearing, which I like even more, I shan't be in a rush to crack them open so to speak.
I found along with these now some old Imperial Denim as well, which had also slipped the net till now. It's been quite a find, this box. -
I can take them off your hands, so you wouldn't have to worry anymore
-
Haha, that's a very kind offer indeed. I am guessing with the sizing showing on the picture, a couple of you chaps may have your eye on them as being a good fit for a new project lol!!
