Thinking of taking the plunge with a pair of Champion Sneakers. Is a half size up from Viberg and Alden (trubalance) size working for dudes? My sneaker size is oddly high compared to my boots and shoes:
8.5 Viberg 2045
8.5 Alden trubalance
8.5 Trickers
Uk10/US11 Vans, Nike, modern Chuck Taylors and New Balance. -
Thanks @Chiba J. I think a half size up from Trubalance will be better, because in D width my Alden are close fitting against my feet and in summer I can only wear them comfortably with dress socks. How's the width of the Champion sneakers compared with your Alden?

Great, thanks again. Need a new sneaker for kicking about in at the weekends and these are mighty attractive.

Just got these in the mail, but unfortunately I sized incorrectly. Although I am a 10 in most Converse, I am definitely not a 10 in these, even with the double insole. I think I am possibly a 9.5, but perhaps a 9 might even be better. I wish I had a way to try them on but I guess I am stuck buying and returning to Self Edge. @Sugar Mountain I would definitely recommend sizing down at least a half size from your regular sneaker size.

For some reason it seems like shoes/boots are always sized larger than they should be.

I'm down a half size on these

This may not be so easy . . . SE is aware of this angle.

So if I'm a 11.5 in New Balance I should go with 11 in the Champions correct?

Yep

After much finagling and size deliberation…
I have gotten my camouflage canvas Champion Lofgren sneakers. I thought that the 10s were a full size too big, so I went with the 9s, not a 9.5. When they came in the box, I thought they would be too small just from looking at them, but after putting in the extra sole and changing out of my thickest wool sock, they seem to fit pretty damn well. I think I could rock a 9.5 too, but I am through returning and they are certainly comfy enough to stick around.I also noticed that the soles on mine were also slightly asymmetrical, much like Mcclaincausey's, but it's not a big issue.
Although I finally had successful sizing with the Champion sneaks though, I was not so lucky with my order of the blue suede shoes…
Shitty pics:
The shoes were awesome, but the 10s were way too big, sent 'em back John's way today and sized down. Will post some cool pics when I get the replacement pair!

Bam. Very comfortable out of the box for me. The extra insoles are a nice touch. Easily switch between thick and thin socks.

I just copped a pair of the blue sneakers and took a half size up from my Viberg and Alden. Hopefully I'll have em for the weekend.

I'm about to order a pair of the natural ones and I'm a bit confused on sizing.
Most people are saying they run big but Sugar Mountain ordered a half size up!
I'm somewhere around 11.5 or 12, depending. (11.5 in Converse, 11.5 in Alden TruBalance, 11.5 in NB, 12 in Vans)
When I emailed John about these he told me to take a size 12 but that sounds like it could end up being too big.
Not sure which route to go. -
Dope socks @veloaudio
Think I might hump at that black cat shirt. Loved Fritz the cat as a kid when I wasn't supposed to be watching it
