I really want to try out a pair of the 666SI double indigo but alas am currently too poor, anyone else in the 36" waist range feeling like a group purchase for a tour?
-
I have 4 21oz IH jeans. 634S-B, the 2 all-black ones, one w/zip, the other slimmer w/buttons, 461S, and a Gray w/black weft (is that SBG?) that is a Jelado collab.
Question 1: How many different actual weave/denims is that?
They all feel different. the 634S-B feels lighter, less thick than Blacks and the SBG or whatever it is…which feels similar to the Blacks. The actual denim weave looks chunkier on those latter ones.
Question 2: How much of this am I imagining and do I have to go back to having less time on my hands?
-
I'll take that as a no then

I have 4 21oz IH jeans. 634S-B, the 2 all-black ones, one w/zip, the other slimmer w/buttons, 461S, and a Gray w/black weft (is that SBG?) that is a Jelado collab.
How many different actual weave/denims is that?634S-B is the same denim as 461s, just dunked in dye
The 2 blacks, it they are black weft and black warp are the same 21oz denim as each other but that denim is produced on a projectile loom rather than the shuttle that the above denim is woven on.
The Jelado collab sounds like SBG which is a 21oz shuttle loom woven denim, same weave as the 634S-B and 461S, just different colour warp and weft…. -
Thank you Giles. Edit: I realize the Jelado/IH is actually the IH-634S-GR denim. It seems to be softening the way the 461S and 634S-B have/had–but as I say, the imagination is a wonderful thing and I had wondered if it was more like those resilient Blacks, especially after a wash. If I know it gets more like the others (634S-B, 461S), I will resume shoveling snow in them pronto.

So I hate to be that guy but I need some advice.
I own a ton of Gitman Vintage shirts, because it's all I've known for awhile and they size consistently.
No IH retailers near me and was wondering how IH shirts (work and western) usually fit compared to Gitman Vintage.
I understand that measurements tell the tale, but only to a certain extent in my experience with shirts.
I'll measure a shirt, order the size that's closest to that, but then I usually find something that isn't quite right.
So some first hand comparison would be much appreciated. -
I don't have any experience with Gitman, but if I remember you have the MF Appaloosa.
I wear XL in IH shirts. Practically exclusively and they fit like the XL Appaloosa does. Hope that helps @Broark

Thanks summ3rhays , did you also get a XXL in that one?
Great shirt, I don't get to wear it enough due to the denim on denim look.
I'm pretty sure @urbanwoodsman has a few Gitman shirts if I recall correctly. -
I typically take a Medium in IH and get a good fit, but with a pretty fitted shoulder. (eg the IHSH-91)
I own a Gitman Vintage Oxford, also a Medium, but with a bit more room in the shoulder (maybe 0.5") and possibly in the chest too. It's also definitely an inch or so longer. -
Hey @Broark !
I wear a lot of GBV button-downs for work, all in a size medium. I pretty much size medium on all of my IHSH as well (although I do have one TWSH in small), and they fit well, albeit a little less slim fitting than my office attire. I'd confidently advise you to go TTS, if personal experience is any indication. But I think like you said, measurements are probably your best indicator, as IHSH tend to have different measurements across the same size in different styles.
-
Not sure how I missed that but I added XL to my post above. XL in the Appaloosa. @Broark

Thanks for the feedback guys, seems like I'm somewhere between XL and XXL.
Weirdly enough I'm an L in the recent IH tees, but they stretch a good bit.
Now just waiting for one to be released that I really love! Some of the IH t's do come up big. Im typically a 42 chest in most things, had two xls and one l in a IH t's and one of the xl's was enormous! The best thing you can do is measure your best fitting Gitman shirt and do a comparison to the IH measurements. If you're on the broader side (as i am), then compare it to a work shirt which is a more generous cut.

Is it common practice for chippies in the UK to include guacamole with an order or F&C?
-
Get those mushy peas down ya lad
-
P.S, I hope you have used liberal amounts of salt and vinegar on them.
P.P.S, get over to FnC this year so you can have some REAL fish and chips….Gile's local chippy is surprisingly very good.

I used so much salt and vinegar I look like I rubbed an Amazonian tribe the wrong way.
my first mushy peas, love them.

I'm in America Giles, I was just asking how things are done there. I do hope to join F&C!
