I'm picturing The Houston Problem pronouncing the word "MOE-rawn."
Or as Bugs would say, "what a maroon!"
-
just saw the pictorial guide to the different cuts.
Giles …. Do you know a place in Melbourne that I could try some of these on to get a feel for the styles ?
The only place in Oz that sells Iron Heart is Cabinet Noir in Perth….

No idea - but it's in the Retailers thread so…
Ah! It's Corlection!
They do stock IH but not denim…

Thanks @mclaincausey and @seawolf for the recommendations!
Churchkey has been on my list the other two times I've visited, but still have yet to give it a go.
My sister and her husband are based in Alexandria and we'll be nearby, it'll be nice to be in a city with better public transit again so we can see (and drink!) more. -
I didn't know that Corlection have a store in Melbourne…
@johnathon I'm also in Melbourne. The best denim shop that I've found so far is the Up There Store. I'm a fan of the 1955 cut.

Made a few inquiries today and "corlection store " will have IH denim in the next few weeks. So will be able to try some on to see the fit. Not sure which cuts they will have but we"ll see.
Graeme… address for Corlection already mentioned is correct. 20 Russell Pl Melbourne.
Up There Store looks alright but they don't sell iron heart. I've been wearing Lee and Levis' for 43 years now.I always got them from Sam Bears in Russell St. What an institution that place was as you probably already know. Sadly they shut their doors last year and I didn't even know until a few months ago.Anyway I'm up for a bit of " modernization " so looking forward to trying some IH on. As a gift recently I got a pair of these jeans called " strange guys" I think they're called. My daughter got em for me and you have to get em real tight cause they stretch a lot apparently. Not a fan...the twins just don't like em, and when I bend over and then stand up there's a big gather of loose denim at the bottom of my arse.. just like a babys nappy full of shit. Not a look I care for. I'm only gonna put em on for a bit when my daughter visits.
I'm gonna give these IH 's a look though but if they don't pan out I'll probably go back to the Levis I think. -
@johnathon Hello, from someone up in Sydney. Mail Order Iron Heart isn't scary and by the sounds of it, is the way to go. Paula/Giles will have something from their shop to you within about 4 days. If you measure something you have and like the fit of, post questions on the closest cut/size/style you like's thread, someone will confirm if you've sized right and it'll be sorted. For the jeans that a few of us have experience with, it's not too difficult to get sound advice. The 634S to this day remains my favourite cut of any jean.
Goodluck!

Anyway I'm up for a bit of " modernization "…
I love how a 60 year old fellar is up for a bit of modernisation… Sorry if that sounds sarcastic, or condescending; I genuinely think that's just cool

Sam Bears was an unbelievable shop. Rumored to have not been painted or anything for a long long long time and it looked it. It was like stepping back in time… I just love that sort of thing. If you're interested google it and there's a heap of pics inside before it shut down.
Snowy... I just might have to do mail order but I wouldn't mind looking at the 555's that Giles mentioned. They actually don't look too bad but I just don't want tight upstairs and my crack hanging out at the back when bent over that's all. Down the legs though they look OK and I'm pretty skinny these days down the thighs and calves. I'm just an old codger that wont change his ways that easily I think. My family reckons I'm stuck in the 70's but I feel I'm in slowly edging my way towards 1980.
All part of my " modernization " ay Seul. -
@johnathon , I forgot. Corlection are also taking the IH-777S-21, which they should get getting any day now….
