There doesn't seem to be as many people in the contest wearing these as have ordered them, strange.
-
I'm not doing the contest as I rotate denim often and it takes me forever to fade lol but will post in this forum from time to time and follow the contest

For the contest, I plan on wearing these or Samurai 5000 15 anniv. 25oz. Gonna let the fit decide…

I'm not taking part in the contest either. I just wanted the jeans because they are awesome.

Giles, I had sent Paula an email about a change in hem length a couple of days ago. Do you know how often she checks? Either length will work if they have already been cut, I just wanted to see if I was too late. ~Oklahoma, USA
-
@Madame Buttonfly checks about every 5 minutes…...And it won't be too late.....
-
@Caduceus_Maximus - yes, all good, just sent you a PM

Thanks! You were right, with the exception that my wife deleted the email! I wonder if that means anything. lol

Just got these bad guys in today and man are they stiff I was not expecting them to be as difficult as they were to put on and especially button afraid to soak them lol thinking if I should have sized up or what they fit good now pre soak and the waist is good but it feels snug I'm thinking more from the stiffness of the material thoughts before the soak?
Just showing my hand fits in waist. Not perving out on the denim lol…....
Will these stretch beyond presoak? And from the pics should I stick with this size or try to +1?
-
Perhaps but now the 34 would shrink to at least 33.5 which is a little tighter than these at presoak and will presumably stretch to where resistance ceases? The other measurements are also very close ~.2 in I'm just worried that that might be the safer option. If the 33s will stretch I'd say ~.3in more than post soak I'd be happy but I'm not sure they will? Arghhhhhh I hate my uncertainty lol and I'm sure if I ordered the 34s I'd be concerned they were too large lol
-
That is a great pre soak fit, and they will stretch but the problem is that after you soak them they will inevitably get smaller. You really have 2 options….
-
Cold soak them for minimal shrink, not much agitation and wear them for a few months to stretch the denim, it might be uncomfortable for a few days but it will pass.
-
Swap and size up to a 34.
Personally I would go with option A but thats me.
-
-
They should stretch back to pre-soak waist and probably a little more with pressure, so I think you'll be fine with the size you have.
@Giles One question, do you let the jeans dry completely after the soak before machine washing them, or do you put them into the washer right after the soak, still wet? I've never had loomstate denim from IH before.
-
I'm pretty nervous about sizing too. I normally don't wouldn't order jeans like this online for this reason but I have the Beatle busters which IH was originally showing the same measurements for. It seems they've changed a little and so I sized up from my original preorder just to keep from having a pair that's too small. I guess I'll keep my fingers crossed.

I think I'm starting to agree with Megatron on this I double cuffed and tried on again I think the hardest part will be stretching after soak but the fit on these is perfect (imho) in presoak so stretched back to this and maybe a quarter to half more in waist will be spot on.
I'll wait a day or two to mull it over and see if I get any more helpful replies or insights….. I appreciate all the help and support from the members.
P.s. here's a comp between these and my 21ozers (a little over a year old )

I imagine that some areas won't stretch back, according to how much tension there is. For example, thigh and calf areas, unless the things are fitting like jeggings, seem like there's no tension to pull them back to pre-soak form. Waistband and other parts of the top block seem subject to the tension required to bring them back. To a lesser extent gravity would provide some tension perhaps to affect shrinkage in the vertical dimension. Just spitballin my instincts…
