Today's unplanned day got some structure as it went along. At the last minute, Mrs Snowy pulled out of visiting the Owl Cafe, something we'd planned on doing for months - non domesticated animals being used to sell is cruel she says. Hard to argue with that, so off to Gundam it was. It's taken 4 trips to Tokyo to see this statue, pretty impressive. Hung around, played Darts for a while, before checking out a 7 floor stationery store in Shinjuku. Tomorrow's a transit day - flying to Sapporo @ Lunch, and will take most of the day to get up there. Not expecting to snap anything tomorrow….

@Snowy loving it always. keeps me motivated for planning my year end trip. if you go to hokkaido, there's this ramen street in sapporo that you've to try, that is if you're a ramen person. it's been about 8-9 years since i've been to hokkaido. will be looking forward to the pictures!

@louisbosco we're up in Sapporo now. Was wandering around on the way back from dinner and saw Ramen Street is 150m away. We're both big on Ramen in winter. It's not too warm up here yet, so will make sure we get down there in coming days, thanks for the tip!

Transit day was spent in transit for the most. Tomorrow we'll get out and see things a bit further away from the hotel most likely. Seems to be lots of youth in the city, lots of teens/early 20's walking around the streets around 9pm, very different/interesting to Tokyo. By the way I do post mostly different photos on instagram under wade_is for those who are interested and aren't already following along….

This thread is my new addiction. We might be doing a similar trip in 2018, so until then we continue to live vicariously.

Yup, was up to Otaru today. Tomorrow off to Farm Tomita to see all the pretty flowers and eat some lavender ice cream. I've never been somewhere so patriotic about their cows and potatoes. Every 3rd/4th place it seems is doing soft serve ice cream, some advertising the farm it was sourced, from, all saying it was local. Potatoes are also called out as local, and quite a few other things, but those 2 are really unexpected. Local pride!
Side note, do let me know if the photos are any better/worse quality/loading time. I've changed from Flickr to Google Photos today. The work flow is much nicer for me, but want to make sure it really does work…

Thanks for the fast feedback @sabergirl I'll stick with Google then. Flickr's UI was always a bit of a hassle.
2018 will be here before you know it @Anesthetist :). I'd suggest @ least 3 weeks to get good coverage of some areas, 4 if you can spare it. Clothing shopping alone takes 2-3 days, a trip down to The Works is a 1/2 day by itself (but totally worth doing at least once. To see everything 'there' and meet the Tom's/Sudo is just awesome).

@Snowy I have thoroughly enjoyed catching up with this thread, been looking through the amazing images with a big grin on my face - thanks so much.
