IHT-2014 - 2014 Version 7.5oz Plain T-Shirts - Loopwheeled Shitamachi Body
-
I've never had the collar of a tee shirt detach from the body. Even crappy 5 for $20 Old Navy clearance rack ones.
Three rows of stitching, like Flat Head does, is decorative, not necessary. The two rows that Iron Heart uses should be enough to last as long as you own the shirt.

Yes

Got another one in white yesterday. The fit is on spot in this run (length & shoulders) and the fabric is just a dream. Super heavy & thick. Don't sleep on these shirts.

Hey, just seeking some care advice on these. I have one of these in white, and I've been noticing some discolouration. Specifically on the areas where the shirt hangs on my body, ei, shoulders, back and neck. Apparently I'm a greasy bastard, and this refuses to wash out. I'm going to try some preventative maintenance (maybe take a shower once and a while). Anyone have any suggestions to try and restore the original colour? Also, weirdly, I have a white TW-1300 which I wear similarly that does not show the same effect. Would love to hear some advice

Do you have a spray-on tan?
-
Nope, the only thing I can think of is maybe moisturizer. But I don't use it that regular, or that heavily…
-
@Giles Will these be restocked?
-
Black XL restock?

Just reread this since the topic was bumped… Obviously a collar isn't going to detach, the point is that you pay good money so the experience should be the best possible.
The fabric on iron heart tees is great, but imo the collars are super lacking. I think binder style (?) necks work a lot better, you can see from your pic that it's already bacon-y on the top.
Iron heart tee shirts have the same neck construction as my 5 dollar tee shirts. Even though the cut also isn't for me, I can understand how others would prefer it, so imo all that would be nice to change is the collar...

I rotate six IH tees on an almost daily basis. The oldest are two years old. Even the new ones bought this summer have seen a decent amount of wear and 4/5 washes. This has simply never been an issue for me. In fact one of the things I enjoy about them the most is the way they retain structure and shape, also around the collar.

I admit to being a little biased. I wear Iron Heart T's almost every single day. In reality the only times I don't is when I am meeting the guys from The Flathead. I am exceedingly hard on my clothes, because I treat them like shit and don't mollycoddle them (that's what we make them for). Some of my shitimachi bodied 7oz loopwheels I have worn regularly for over 5 years, they look almost brand new. The only time I retire them is if I spill food or red wine down them and I can't get the stain out…

Yes, the experience should the best possible, but that's a subjective assessment. Personally, I don't like Flat Head style necks. In fact, that's the biggest reason why I don't wear their tee shirts. IH collars are comfortable for me, which is why I have a dozen or so of their tee shirts.
No choice will make everyone happy.

Definitely agree that iron heart collars are more comfortable. Even though I love the look of fh's collars and the work/thought behind them, and I don't notice them once on, can't say I look forward to putting on or taking off the tees….

And I just thought it was me - I don't have a large head, but FH have really tight openings.
