Anyone seen the Buco Racing Vest in person? If so, any thoughts or comments on it? Specifically the zipper and the thickness of the vest?
I have. Really liked it. Very clean and simple. If memory serves i thought the side pockets looked a bit small. When Im next in the office i can always go and check it out for you. Might have to be there tomorrow

Thanks!

@Cutlasshound would also be interested to hear your opinion on how the Buco compares to the military inspired alpaca vests?
Cheers.

Racing vest should be here tomorrow [emoji3]. Now the next item. Looking at the M65 Field Jacket the size Medium chest, length and body measurements look good but I'm worried about the sleeve length. Anyone with a Medium or Large want to take some full sleeve (collar center to cuff) measurements for me?

Nice man! Enjoy it and take some pics.

thank you @steelworker I love this hat. its a 40sfedora style from tattonbaird by chandler scott he did as a limited edition for rising sun when Mike Hodis was in charge. wear it almost everyday its so good

Love the Racing Vest. I went with a 40 and it is exactly what I wanted. Great over a tshirt but still works over my 102. And I can layer it under my Gk. A win all around.

Looks great Matt, I look forward to seeing it later this fall and winter. I have wanted this one for a while but my vest collection is stocked.

Wise choice indeed! Now i must resign myself to the fact that this does not, and will not, ever fit me [emoji19]

Sorry old chap for delayed response, not had the opportunity to get back in the office. As soon as i do, will pop and have a look.
From memory, my initial impressions between the two were that:
-
the pile of the lining was a lot longer on the military vest, which means it would probably be warmer. I prefered the aesthetic of the shorter pile on the racing vest and thought it would be more practical for me in terms of layering.
-
the above means that, in my opinion, the racing vest would mean it was more practical for layering under a jacket.
-
I dislike the colour brown (except in leather), so i was naturally drawn to the colour of the lining on the racing vest.
-
generally, i didn't notice any fundamental differences between the two other than the above (and the fact that the military vest comes in different colours)
-
the build quality on both was excellent, as you would expect.
I tried the racing vest on as i have been planning to buy it for months. It is lovely and i would have bought it. However, the sizing is tiny!! Im typically an xl or xxl in IH and even in size 42, i couldnt get close to zipping this up over a IH tshirt, let alone layering something underneath!

@veloaudio my m65 size medium: measuring in a straight line from center bottom of collar to end of cuff I get 33.5"; from center of collar to shoulder: 9.75", sleeve: 25.25"; shoulders, straight across: 19.25". Hope that helps,, let me know if you need other measurements. I will say that if the jacket fits you in the chest, it's very unlikely the sleeves would be too short. Its probably safe to go by the sizing guide on the tag. Its a great jacket!

Thanks @Anesthetist. I'm looking forward to the vest breaking in a bit.
