I don't know that this'll actually work but it seems like a good work around. I actually measured the buttonholes and the loose one on mine is a little longer than the others. So my theory is that making the length of the hole shorter by binding the edges at one end will solve the problem. At the end of the day though I'll let my seamstress decide. She's the nuts.

Did you do it as I thought it? Binding the end of an opening to shorten the length of the buttonhole?

closed the hole with needles and then made some parallel stitches on top and bottom = buttonhole shortened and tightened
