IHSH-21-BLU - 10oz Selvedge Chambray Work Shirt - Blue
-
I didn't measure the waist before I sold the 13, but the size charts on IHUK are very indicative of a slightly smaller waist on the current run of 13s compared to the same size on the current runs of 21s, although it also looks like the "opening" on the 21 is smaller than the 13 - which is more typical of westerns in my experience - westerns usually feature a slimmer "waist" (smallest part of the shirt) with a slight fluting from the waist to opening, where the workshirts more more boxy, meaning less "fluting" of the opening from the waist.
Sorry it that was confusing haha
no it totally makes sense, and I agree.
Thanks man.

just got a large but not sure about the fit. Although I don't currently have a favorite jean, the 21 is my favorite IH Chambray.
It's beefy & cut pretty forgivingly & just what I think of when I think of the brand.
maybe I'll try a larger-medium or a smaller-large :-\

got a Large, images later.
sleeve, shoulders & chest pretty good . . . length not so sure about.
I forgot how substantial these feel when new'ish
-
Mine has been washed countless times…..it's still quite substantial....another lifetime shirt
-
Got my original XL many moons ago & the elbows are starting to wear out, but it still feels very robust, hahahahahaha. I think I'll have to put it up in April & take it back out in September
-
Might be time for elbow patches or a short sleeve 21…..chopping a long sleeve results in a smaller arm opening than a spec made short sleeve......how do you wear out elbows

People!
I'm looking hard at this shirt, but I'm confused about sizing. The other Chambray w/shirts I own (118 and 119 in XL) fit great, but this is obviously cut differently as demonstrated when I use the "Compare" function (btw, how did I ever survive without that?).
This seems to come up longer and wider in the body. In fact with the exception of the shoulders it looks like I could do a Large in this comfortably. That would be a first for me as I'm generally XL-XXL in most IH. So the question is has anyone experience with sizing down?

I would go with your regular XL…that way you could wash and dry or...My first one is a medium, my usual size, always thought it was a bit tight so I bought lrg. My 2 cents.

I was in the exact same boat as you with this shirt. It also sounds like we are very close in size as I am also an XL-XXL in most IH shirts. So I first ordered an XL in this shirt and the upper body and sleeves fit great but the body is baggy. I then ordered a large and it fit but was just a bit too snug and too short for my liking. I ended up selling the Large and I still have the XL but haven't worn it much because of the width of the body. It's fairly blousy.
FWIW I'm a 33"-34" actual waist (depending on the time of year). If my XL was just narrower in the body by an inch or so it would be a good fit but still maybe a tad long…which doesn't really bother me though.
Hope that helps.

Helps a lot. Thanks very much for taking the time. You're a great example of what the forum is all about [emoji1434]
Thank you for the kind words, glad I could help.
With all that being said it's a great shirt and the "Chambray work shirt of all Chambray work shirts" IMO.
