IH-555N - 17oz Selvedge Denim Super Slim Jeans - Natural Indigo
-
Perfect, thanks. I'll just get on with wearing them then!

Here are my brand new 555n's. Soaked and returned to IH for hemming (lightning fast turnaround).
After running out of 666's to buy I took a gamble on these. Tried the sbg 555's previously and they were just too skinny, but the slightly larger cut of these is much better for me.
Went brave with the sizing, and think when the waist gives a bit they'll be perfect. They are not perfect at the moment however [emoji37]
Wanted a lighter weight denim for the summer, and am surprised at how much lighter these feel at 17oz to my 666s at 18oz.
Has the waist stretched out much? How long did it take? Looking very good btw!

Thanks @Kathrynnaomi! The waist has stretched out, but i couldn't tell you by how much. They are not quite there, but are now close. I would guess about 10 wears. I think they would have stretched more, but i've had to tighten my belt a notch otherwise it was all loose, which i now realise was probably stopping them stretching more. Now belt free for several wears!
How are you getting on with yours?

Not too bad, I'm only two days in and hoping for a bit more stretch for them to be comfortable. The denim is lovely, a great shade of indigo. I've got the 555 in 21ozcand 18oz and it's amazing how different they all feel. It's a perfect fit for me!

I'm planning to get this one tomorrow. I bought a 666N yesterday and I'm finding it a bit bulky for my style, so I'm going to exchange that for the 555N. The 666N that I got was waist 32, so my question now is should I get size 31 for the 555N? Suggestions?
-
Giles this might be a silly question but for a newbie like myself was curious to know why the rivets on the 555N not have the iron works engraving as compared to the 555-02.

Thanks to all who helped me git my first Iron Heart! I got my first pair of 555N today. I will post a picture soon! I really like the fit and the indigo dye looks awesome. I hope that it ages excellently!

Thanks! I'm not a fashion guy, but in the very recent years I've been buying products that would be of high quality. Most of the denims that I bought over the last couple of years did not last for more than a year. They either shrunk in length or in the waist. Same goes with my shoes. I remember buying a pair of leather shoes from Timberland. They never lasted me for more than a year and a half. That was when I started to look elsewhere and I came across Red Wing shoes. I ended up getting the classic 875 and even after one and a half years, they go strong.
Anyway, I reiterate that I'm not a fashion guy. So I'm now looking for some inspiration on how to combine my 555N, Red Wing 875 with a proper shirt. Which shirts go good with this combination. What do you guys think?

Buffalo check, heavy flannel.

After almost a week of wearing the 555N, I have the feeling that the portion between the waist and the thigh is a bit loose for me. I would like to know if there is any possibility to get it altered. It does not look bad as is when I wear it, but it would be a lot better if I could get that portion to be a bit tighter. Any suggestions?

I'd stick with them for another couple of weeks, they might settle down into a better shape on you with a bit more wear.

That's sound advice. Wear them hard a few weeks. Let them become friends with you. They'll soften and sit on you totally differently.

Ok! I will give it some more weeks perhaps and then observer how it goes!
