So….the question now is....how many SQ FT do you need to make a pair of boss boots?
At least 12 sq feet of usable leather!
So 4-6 shells, depending on size and useable percentage? No wonder shell boots are so pricy. That's a lot of material cost.

@den213:
Great job, they're looking boss ;)!
Lol, clever. Thanks man!
Now, what leather is used on a stock Boss?

Ok. Thanks G and Neph. BTW Giles you were correct in suggesting 11.5 months back. Thanks[emoji1303]
Got some blisters on both heels tho [emoji1304]
Hopefully that wont happen for too long. Any suggestions to avoid it? -
@pillowPANTS Mole Skin from your local drugstore should help with blisters. You can also put duct tape over your heel, if you can't find mole skin.

Ok ill look. For now i put on some blister bandages. Hopefully after they break in they will bend with me and not have my heel slip out.
Should i put the Wesco supplied oil on them now, or wait till they get worn in a bit? -
Ok

Wow!! Congrats!!
Thank you! I believe you've advocated keeping it simple and that was part of the plan here. It'll be a week until I get my hands on them [emoji16]

I agree with all of that!!
Maybe not the double mid tho -
Maybe not the double mid tho
Not in keeping with the simple philosophy I agree, and they're not for everyone. I just love the look of the double mid's and the boot has more heft with them as it counteracts the sleek MP toe. Also the conditions I'll be wearing them in dictate a double sole; everything that lifts me out of mud, snow, and sleet is good stuff.

@tmg:
That's an awesome pair of boots, and they'll look even better with some wear on them! Double mid suits them, but I expect it will take a bit more to break them in fully.
Surprised you're not on a plane to Gosport to pick them up [emoji3]Yeah the oil-tanned lacks character initially but was a must if they're going to be year round boots. The good thing is I can use mink oil on them. And I've seen well worn examples that look ace.

Looking forward to see your pair and mine break in
