A Ripple or Mini Ripple could be a option
I've got a pair of Vibergs with Vibram ripple soles on, and I went through them pretty quickly. After about a year in rotation with a couple of other boots and shoes, I've worn the heels down completely, and some of the ripples in the toe are almost gone. I'll be replacing mine with a set of Dr. Sole #3060 cushioned soles when they arrive.
Dr. Sole offers ripple soles, unfortunately they don't come up big enough to fit on my boots. There's a raw cord version on his Tumblr page that I like.
Speaking of Red Wing repair, I've worn through the lining in the forefoot of my pair of Beckmans. Is there anyone who can fix these, or should I just chuck them?

thanks for the info @Graeme

not sure if it could be fixed, by patching it with a glued in leather. Otherwise one would need to deconstruct the whole, what I guess, would cost a lot…

Pretty sure you're out of luck there. Replacing the liner probably means reconstructing the boot. At that point, your cost is likely to rival a new pair, if you can find someone to do it.
I know a couple of boot makers that will replace a lining, but only on boots they made, and they don't really like doing it.

Can't imagine it looking very good

That's what I'm trying to work out. Suspect you're right, but the extra protection the kiltie gives my Vibergs is golden. The tongue gusset on Red Wings seems to be made of heavier leather so it may not be necessary.
