IHSH-162 - Black or Olive 12oz Cotton Swedish Serge CPO Style Shirt

Nice combo Harley! Gutted I missed out on the Olive 162

@Giles @PattyCakez @Sam, is the Olive (M) "waist" measurement 21.6" or 20.6"?
It says 21.6", but the (M) Black is 20.4", so may be a mis-type?

Agreed! Thanks for putting these up, I've wanted to see this olive in natural light. Looks lovely!
Looks like a proper fit, good work.

I got a little shrink out of my 162 with a warm wash/machine dry. Mainly shorted the body a little and the arms, which were too long at first. Perfect fit now.
Be careful though because mine did streak a little. Nothing major. Probably shouldn't have thrown it in the dryer…

Noted. Planned on doing a really hot soak on mine. Will be sure to stay away from the dryer.

Here is a short review of the IHSH-162. For reference, I am 180cm (5'11'') and 71kg (155 lbs).
Fit
This shirt fits me like a standard IH medium except that it's bit longer than most other current IH shirts. Several years ago, the IH shirts were made longer (see, for example the IHSH-12 and IHSH-18) but there has been a gradual decrease in length over the years. I prefer the extra inch of length. The sleeve length will be reduced by approximately half an inch due to creases in arms. This is something which occurs with many IH shirts that are made with heavy or stiff material.
My only criticism with the fit is the excess of material in the lower back area. This causes the back of the shirt to puff out, which is noticeable when viewing from the side or rear.
Fades
I've worn this shirt approximately 10 times and washed it 3 times on the hand wash cycle. Fades have already started to on the stress points, especially the pocket borders and the collar. It's too early to tell if there will be fading on the creases in the arms, but I would imagine so due to the stiffness of the cloth.Details
The most noticeable detail is the large copper snaps and definitely distinguishes this shirt from the standard IH western. I would prefer silver colored snaps, but that's just personal preference. The seams are double chain-stitched with orange thread. The pockets are a great addition for people like myself who don't like to carry bags or put their phone in their jeans.Summary
The CPO makes a great alternative to the standard IH western. The only necessary improvement is less material in the lower back area. -
Nice review @DrPat
Easily one of my favorite shirts right now.
I would agree that the fabric in the rear panel can appear to extend out from the body, but I wonder if that is due to the stiffness and weight of the fabric, or due to the cut itself.
I'm 8-10 wears in on my Olive 162 as well, no washes yet. Already starting to see some evo.

Cool to read Dr. Pat's Reviews, just like in the old days. I agree on the snaps, they are too big and loud on shirts in general in for my personal taste.

You've washed it quite a few times considering the amount of wears. Was this the result of wanting to achieve some shrinkage or do you not wear a shirt underneath or just because you damn-well felt like it?
This shirt didn't shrink in the wash and I didn't expect it to. I washed it once because it needed it, once because I wanted to take in on vacation with me, and once because I spilled something on it.
I always wear a t-shirt underneath my shirts. With shirts that require a gentle wash due to fades I find it better to be proactive in terms of washing. I don't sweat very much but at some point my IHSH-08 started to smell after not washing it for a very long time. It took a lot of effort to get it clean again. I first rubbed liquid soap in the armpits but this left a white residue. Washing it on the gentle cycle many times did not get rid of the residue. I tried soaking it in vinegar and this removed the excess soap.
