Thanks adam!
Neph I think I'm gonna keep them in since they'll likely hold up better. Your build is similar to my next…I even want that stitching lol
Given that they're a work boot that is definitely a good idea. It all looks natural when they break in anyway.
Ha… great minds and all. Good thing we're on different sides of the Atlantic

Scored these from Wesco's seconds section.
Very similar to the Division Road Packrider except the soles.
This thick arse veg tan leather has already let itself be known as tough breaker inner (as compared to my brown domain rough outs) -
Damn, they look fantastic!

Mid-winter treatment complete. Surprisingly little salt scarring, but probably should have done a vinegar wash beforehand as I noticed a little where the leather meets the midsole. I have had them since July and they get worn about 3-4 days per week.
Minor salt scarring:
The hammered and healed, err, heel.

Those engineers look really good @neph93
It's nice to know that minor sole repair is doable–thanks for posting pics tooSent from my SM-G935P using Tapatalk

how much will the veg tan darken over time?
and what are yall's thoughts on two lifts lower on the heel of a boss?
anyone have any example pics of this?

Veg tanned will darken. How much depends on what you do with them and where you are in the world. Just wearing them and brushing off dirt will mean some darkening through exposure to the elements, your hands etc. Lots of dirt, water, salt etc will mean you need to treat them on a more regular basis and pretty much any treatment (polishing, oiling) will darken them quickly. Personally I'd welcome that and enjoy the process, but some people don't embrace it.
Wesco's IG account and the wesco_japan IG account are great places to go to check out their boots. You'll find lots of lowered heels there, especially on the Japanese account. There are a few pics and some discussions earlier in this thread also. Two lifts lower is the so-called "standard lowered" heel on the boss I think. This means they use a different last. I like the look of the lowered heel but would never get it myself. I have a long torso and wide body so I really appreciate the extra height that the standard heel gives me. If you're tall with long legs then the standard lowered is probably a good idea. It's a matter of taste of course.

I'm a weak man, especially for Wesco's. These are inbound
