IHJ-46 - 17oz Cotton Duck Type III Jacket - Brown
-
I believe The 2526 is the continuously reissued variant of this jacket while the 46 was simply a seasonal run for those that didn't like the pockets. I could be mistaken. I (for one) would have bought the 2526 if it had been in stock at my time of buying, but the 46 has been everything I could ever ask for in a type III. I honestly wish every type III fit just like this one.

Correct. I do not know if H will run this again….But the 2526 will get made repeatedly....

Nice. yeah I'm looking forward to it, mine arrives tomorrow. Why do you say that about the fit? Is it because it is a bit longer, because it's just an all around good fit, or both?
In my opinion, and that's really all it is, the measures of this jacket work for a good variety of people. I am a fairly hard body to size right. My
Torso dosnt taper much and I have very wide hips, which makes most clothing cut with a specifically "tailored" look usually look odd on me.On me, the 46 is snug and tailored without being restrictive - the wider shoulders help a ton. The sleeves are long enough that they sober whatever shirt you are wearing under the jacket, but not so long you have to double cuff the sleeve. The collar is large enough to button up all the way (if that's your style) but dosnt look sloppy.
Hopefully you have as great of an experience with it as I have had.

I have the 526J and the IHJ-46 (both size 46) and the J46 is more fitted in the torso but has longer sleeves than the 526. I think the measurements do reflect it very well so one can always rely on them.
I had the 2526j for 4 years then replaced it with the J-46 for a better fit.
Fully agree with Dion re the fit difference. In fact, it seems to me the J-46 should have been the one with pockets as it is longer and is more trucker like, whereas the 2526j is cut more like a traditional pocketless typeIII IMO

received my jacket yesterday and sizing up to XXL worked out perfectly. Thanks again guys for all of the input on the sizing on this one. Very happy with it and like others have said it's much more versatile sizing up as it works great over a T shirt plus there is room to layer. Great Jacket, exactly what I was expecting and hoping for.
On a side note I also received my 633 18oz overdye's from SelfEdge, fantastic pair of jeans AND they look really sharp with the IHJ-46.

Anyone have any tips on how to get the shipping creases out of this jacket? I've got some sharp creases right down the side of each sleeve from where it was folded. Not a huge deal but just curious if there's a trick to getting them out other than just wearing the damn thing.

Another option is to soak and then wash it gently (inside out of course). It worked for me very well and I got rid of my creases (but I wash every new garment prior to wearing it).
I thought about that too but I've never washed duck canvas before so I wanted put that off until I had to. Knowing my luck I'd screw up my brand new jacket somehow
