You've also got a few more months to continue the weight drop before you have to worry about getting into a pair.

I'm very excited for this release, and I'm about to pull the trigger on the pre-order. Since it's a brand new cut, I'm torn between 33 and 34. I want them fit me comfortably without restricting range of motion, but not look baggy.
In most 634 variants, I'm a 34 - SExIH13 22oz I have in 33 and are so tight in waist and thighs I can't even button them, and thigh seams are stretched out; 634s in 34 was comfy and not baggy (but sold because I lost a lot of weight at the time - bad decision); 634-XHS in 33 are too tight and can't wear any longer; 634S-18 in 34 is very good, comfy without being baggy; 634SR in 33 is very good too - very similar to 634S-18 in 34.
I had 1955-UH in 34, but were far too big and baggy. Even after max shrink with a couple of hot washes. It was like I had huge thigh diapers on. And, I have big thighs (when I'm healthy and exercising regularly). 33 would have been much better.
Tried a 666-XHS in 33, but were so tight in hips and thighs I could hardly walk.
I think I'm gonna with a 34 in 888-NT…

Quick tip on sizing, as I'm wearing the washed sample of this cut right now. Go true to size, the size 36 are absolutely perfect for me.
I'll add some fit pics as soon as I get some daylight and a break from the rain.

For reference, in the 1955-UHR size 34 I had, this is the shrinkage I found after 1 cold wash and 2 hot washes. I measured as accurately as possible, IH method, but with denim this heavy and stiff when new there's always a margin of error when trying to get some measurements to lay flat.
Overall, they didn't shrink as much as I expected raw denim to shrink, except in length. Especially when compared to some other brands where I've had up to -2.0" shrink in the waist after just one cold wash. I did not wear them enough to experience any stretch.
Waist: -0.5"
Front rise: -0.375"
Rear rise: -0.5"
Thigh: -0.375"
Knee: -0.25"
Hem: -0.125"
Length: -2.0"In this consistent with what the IH crew has seen in past -UHR jeans? Can I expect similar shrinkage with this latest -UHR run?
-
Can confirm that one can get the most shrinkage out of the UHR in length: I managed to lose ~ 3 inches. Everything else stayed pretty much the same to my surprise.
Looking forward to their raw measurements in October/November as I'm in between two sizes. Sized up will definitely be a solid straight fit, though. -
Does ANYONE have an idea of the shrinkage for the rises? These are "borderline" for me, to quote Madonna, ugh.
@Giles -
@Giles - even the inseam length?
-
Raw IH bottoms are made slightly oversized and will shrink to tagged size, i.e. a tag 36 of the 888NT will measure 37,2 in its raw state and will shrink to a targeted 36. And the UHR is pretty abrasive, crispy und tough, even after several washes, so it depends on how much pain you can endure if you decide to stretch them…
-
As a newbie to the UHR, is it better to size large and shrink (tag size 36 shrink to fit 35.5) or size smaller (tag size 35, and cold soak and take precautions not to shrink)?
I appreciate the wisdom of your experiences.
Thsis what the tag size 36 sample did…....

There will be a slight delay in posting decent fit pics after a mishap collecting a lost football from a building site this evening
