IH-633S - Self Edge x Iron Heart 21oz Selvedge Straight Tapered
-
If there has been a comparison between 1955S and 633 can someone provide a link?
I have the 1955S in size 36 and they are great but I'm looking for something a little slimmer and more tapered that will still fit my 13-14" thighs. Thanks in advance.Edit: I've lost weight since buying the 1955S, they still fit well through the hips and thighs but are pretty loose in the waist and I want to try something more tapered.
also, these are only available at self edge, correct? The 633 sounds like it's the fit you are looking for then, or you can give the soon to be released 888 fit a shot as well. Both cuts have a good amount of room in the top block and a stronger taper than the 1955.
Yes, the 633 cut is a SelfEdge exclusive.

There isn't… but the new 888 cut should be a winner for you: https://www.ironheart.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=9693.0 (as it should be for me ;D)

I'll check out the 888 measurements as well. Cheers!
If you like the high rise of the 1955 then the 888 will be perfect for you. Just FYI but he 633 has a lower rise and tapers from the knee, whereas the 888 will taper from above the knee and has a higher rise. I'm excited as this may turn out to be the perfect cut for me…

Got stopped in the local Starbucks today by a gentleman sporting the 633S. He noticed the 666SII I was wearing. He was sporting some fine fades- it was cool to run into another IH fan out and about!
That never happens to me here in St. Louis. Well, except when I run into @Anesthetist at our neighborhood Starbucks but that doesn't count.

Looks awesome.

Had some nice sunlight yesterday and took a snap of the progress on my 633. 5 months in with much wear and cycling.

I was able to snag the 633-18 earlier this week and they arrived this weekend. Completely blown away by these. They really do look ALOT like the LVC vintage Denim they use (RIP) on their 1966 501, but of course, the Hairy Denim, hefty weight, and beautiful stitching mKe these far superior to any Levi’s LVC product.
I didn’t want to start a new thread just for a limited run of the jeans, so figured the 633s thread was fine (mods, feel free to move if you see fit).
There are a couple of things to remember when purchasing these:1. The waist is Majorly Undersized. My size 38 measured 36.8 without tension and with a little tension on the band, measured just about 37 dead on. This is perfect for me, but maybe not someone else. The Rise, however, is quite high. In my mind, this is how the 634 was originally dreamed to be, as opposed to the 633-14 and 633n that seemed to have pretty tight thighs and a low rear rise for me.
2. The taper is more aggressive than the 633S or 633N - which again works perfectly for me, but they are kinda tight over my engineer boots. If you have a large foot (I wear a 9.5US), they might not make it past the buckle and on the engineers. However, this is how I have wished the 633 I’ve had over the years would fit me, so I am very happy with them.
3. The brass hardware really pops off the Vintage Denim
4. The thread color seems really unique. The stealth pockets are a nice treat.
Measured the IH way:
Waist: 37
Front Rise: 12
Back Rise: 16.25
Thigh: 13.75
Inseam: 37.25
Leg Opening: 8.15
Overall, these are the perfect pair of blue jeans for me. Regular thigh (not too slim, not too roomy), nice Rise, great knee room, and a beautiful taper. Of course, these are unhemmed, and once the Denim settles, it will bunch up too much for my liking, so after their first wash, I’ll
Get them hemmed. Outstanding work @kiya - thanks again.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
