Yesterday at the wedding, which started at 16:00, a couple of guests arrived just before the bride was going to walk down the aisle.
Mrs Guest was wearing the most amazing and outrageous sequinned dress. Ther were no eyes not on her when she tried to sit discreetly on the front row (because there were no other chairs available).
After the ceremony, I went (immediately) to the bar and Mrs Guest was there in all her amazing pink sequinned finery. I said to her "Shit, you like to make an entrance, did you arrive late on purpose?"
Roll forward 90 minutes.
We are assigned our table and (of fucking course) I am sitting next to Mrs Guest. She's wearing another dress. Someone said, "wow you've changed", she glanced at me and replied, "yes I was made to believe I was a little overdressed earlier, so I went back to my hotel and changed. I realised I have a little work to do…..So I said, "Oh, did I say that out loud?" Answer "YES YOU FUCKING DID".
Turns out she recently sold her cosmetics company for many $million and is quite a big deal.
By the end of the night we were dancing hard together and scrabbling through ashtrays looking for suitable nub ends to fire up.
I had to work hard last night....

Im afraid I'm lost at the reference. I only know a bit because my cousin owns a cosmetics magazine and company. The "powder group" out of NY. You mentioned L'oreal, who his husband works for, and I thought (probably foolishly) maybe you would know him if you worked at L'oreal. cheers

I have eclectic musical tastes, I'm playing Robbie Williams at the mo' and was reminded of a typical Giles faux pas. Back in 2011, we went to the opening of a regrettably short-lived Iron Heart retailer opening party, Spencer Hart.
There were all sorts of big deals there and me and P did feel a little out of place.
There was a guy there giving all sorts of I'm too cool for school vibes, I said in a stage whisper to P, fuck me that guy thinks he's a real fucking big deal, Paula in a less audible whisper replied, Giles that's Robbie Williams....
Fuck me......
