Neph Im 45 miles north NYC and we experience the same weather. the 21 oz was tolerable for me all summer but the pronto 25 was brutal. be sure to let me know if you ever come back to NY. ill buy you a beer.
For sure! I'll be doing it in the course of 2018 I reckon. We can make a thing of it and summon the whole of the east coast contingent!

Btw, not sure if anyone's using the 18oz vintage for this contest but I think that would be a cool choice for this. They have a unique Indigo hue right out of the bag compared to most raw denim. They are also very breathable so in most climates you can literally wear them year round and be relatively comfortable. They have a very good blend of weight and wearability. I was very pleasantly surprised to find out how comfortable these were to wear in Phoenix during the summer months. Sure they were hot in the peak summer months but I actually wore them more than my 14oz this summer which was completely unexpected. I would say I could wear these 11 months out of the year here which is saying something for a pair of 18oz jeans in Phoenix.
The fades also look very promising.

Just dropped some pics of my last two contest jeans in a new thread if anyone needs an idea of what the 25oz, and the UHR look like after some wear.

Wow, I had forgotten how much 25 oz denim can hurt. I have been wearing 14 over the last 6 months because of summer and stuff.
I've got bruised thumbs and indigo everywhere. But I managed to wrestle myself into the 25 indigo/indigo which I'll exist in for the next couple years.
I told my girl that I'll be sleeping in these jeans for the next two year. She said me or the jeans, so I guess I'll take them off at night
I went with a 31, and they are skin tight, like so tight I don't know think I'll be able to fit the normal one or two layers of wool long johns on that I normally wear during the winter. Hope this 25 oz is warm!
Pics to come.

Paid my entrance fee and just ordered a pair of the Lee 101 22oz. Can't wait!

Finally remembered to register. Just hoping the rise and thighs on the NT work for me…

Ramping up for this contest which is quickly approaching, I was hoping for some more experienced folks' recommendations and results with using spray starch?
I have the heavy duty Niagara kind and was looking for application feedback where to apply (I'm planning in the lap area to enhance whiskers and behind the knees for honeycombing) as well as how often?
Thanks in advance! Hope the post wasn't tl/dr

@tfahey00 , we don't use starch dude. The contest is about natural wear and evolution "starching" is basically like boxing with horse shoes in your gloves.
