The retirement home is a thread for folks to post their past IH jeans, which may have fallen out of rotation, been beaten to death, or are just at the end of their useful life.

By nature of the Denim Championship contests my own wear is 48 month cyclical mostly, these first two are from the last 2 contests. Whilst they aren't anywhere near as destroyed as some of the contestants, these pairs are now firmly in the retirement home, still loved but barely ever seeing the light of day.

First up the original MBB (Mega Beatle Buster), made for the HWDC2 from Iron Hearts 25oz Denim. This denim has strong vertical fading properties, wears in like sweat pants and is ridiculously comfortable after the initial pain.

Next up is the Iron Heart DWC x UHR, made from from the 21/23 ultra heavy raw denim. Incredible fading properties in general, this denim is hairy with a beautiful blue hew when new and then fades with stark contrasts all the way through.

That's me done, let's see your former, heavily worn, favourites out in the daylight again.

I've recently started getting items I'd considered 'done' back out of retirement and have been wearing full time again. Currently in my 2012-retired sugarcanes. Next to exit retirement are my 634s'. VERY keen to get back into them, once I get these SC's dead and buried.

SExIH01 purchased March 2007 and subjected to 3+ years of heavy abuse.

Sterling silver rivets. Really would love to see them again. Also notice the blank fly buttons.

Half arcs, still my favorite back pocket design ever. Unlined pockets.

They originally came with a number something like xxx/100 hand written on the pocket bag that has long since faded away.

Repaired multiple times before I gave up.

@Megatron1505 I cannot say which pair is my favourite because they are both awesome, but those two are the two candidates im considering for my next pair Seems like they will fade fantasticlly either way, which one was/is the most comfortable?

@Truls the UHR always gets my vote, comfiest denim made anywhere by anyone imo, like sweatpants after you break them in.
