I'm jealous this denim looks awesome ….but I cant give up on my 6 month old 25 oz just yet ....enjoy everybody

My buying philosophy exactly. The moment I start deliberating, I know that I will break down eventually, so I may just as well just get it over and done with. I have never regretted anything I have bought, I have regretted stuff that I did not….
This is true. I like this philosophy

@richardjohn22 the UHR also comes up slightly wider in the thigh than the 888S, more in tune with the original concept. Expect around .3" shrinkage from the UHR and not a lot of stretch in the thigh.
@Giles , your purchasing philosophy is sound in principle, but what happens when you're deliberating about $2000 of kit and you only have $500 to spend?

Forgive my confusion, but is the posted sizing chart the loomstate measurements or expected size after shrink? I normally wear tag size 34 in other raw denim (ranging from 34-35 depending on brand), but the listed size of the 34.5, after expected shrinkage, would be too small I think. Dont know if I should size up or not, help?

from the product description
Will be shipped unwashed, MEASUREMENTS GIVEN HERE ARE PRE-SHRINK
Amount of shrinkage will depend on how hot and vigorously jeans are washed, on 40 degree C wash you can expect approximately 1" shrinkage on waist, up to 2" shrinkage on inseam. All dimensions will shrink proportionately to the waist and inseam, those that are put under pressure will have a tendency to stretch back out, those that aren’t will not.

I dont know how i didn't see that, as I've been staring at the product page for about a day and a half now, but thank you for pointing it out.

@rigertplakento Don't worry, it's probably a condition called Indigo Blindness that occurs when you stare too long at pictures of spectacular denim.
-
Honestly, I'm a little surprised when people do read the captions, instead of just looking at the pretty, pretty pictures.

My view. UHR harder to stretch than traditional 21oz….
Cheers. So which do you think is likely to end up more spacious in the thigh out of the two 888 variants, in tag 36? Assuming some cold rises and whatnot to minimise the shrinking on the UHR. Or are we just splitting hairs and there's nothing much in it between the two?

Here are some fit pics of these. I hate to say, I really like these jeans. I washed this pair, cold NC. water, did the usual spin, they did not shrink much at all, I did not measure, just compare to an unwashed pair. They are a 36 waist which is a size up for me, I probably could have gone with a 35 Waist. After using my needle nose plyers to stretch out the button hole, I had them on in 5 minutes, without bloody fingers.
