So I did some research and I see that shrink tests show nearly an inch loss in back rise. That’s good news.

Agreed, I’m hoping for something in the range of 3/4” to 1” of rear rise shrinkage. My pair won’t be here until midweek so in the meantime I’m rubbernecking everyone else’s right now…

Boo. This is not good news, it is bad news, my small-arsed friend.

In 36" waist jeans, 17" rear rise and 14" thigh (min, and this is post-shrink) are where it's at for those with big muscular legs and arse. By the time an alternative to the 1955S come out I probably won't be this big or strong anymore.
(P.S. I'm wearing the 1955S right this very minute, but after 21 months the crotch is ready to blow. To give the 1955S their dues, I've never got this many wears out of a single pair of jeans as an adult. These days if I buy shorts I can expect to have annihilated the crotch before I've even washed them twice.
And yes, I've stretched out the rise and thigh beyond 17" and 14" at this point, in the 1955S!

Hopefully I can get a bit more shrink out of the knee and leg opening. It only gave me ~.3” after a 40 minute hot soak and 3 hour cold soak while I was at work.
Agitation is your best bet for getting all the shrinkage out, so give them a gentle wash. Although a third of an inch from narrow horizontal measurements sounds about right tbh
I figured I was pretty close to the max shrinkage. I’ll throw them into another bath once they get back from hemming.

Ok, so I let the machine run and tumble and then when the final
Spin is about to start I yank them out… ok thanks man. -

IH directions that came with the denim recommend a cold soak. I’m doing that now and will wash them later. How the hell am I gonna get these inside out while wet?

-
Yeah she will probably enjoy my struggle. Lol
-
Fuck me looks like there wa soap in the washer from a previous user. Gonna man these before the spin starts

This is how I have to dry these… thoughts? I can hang them in the shower over night. But for now I got this. There is also a lot of Little wrinkles on them. No Color loss streaks though... maybe some Leg twist on the left leg ? Thoughts please
That brown spot was something on the Lense

@jvicente86:
Post-soak measurements and photos. Didn't struggle much getting these on and I might have been able to squeeze into a 35 but I didn't want to risk the thigh being too tight
Fit looks really good [emoji1434] Great job documenting shrinkage too. Very helpful to others.

I’m noob to front loading machinesI take it I’m a bit late now (it was nighttime here when you posted) but for future reference, I leave mine in for the whole cycle, but set the rpm’s all the way down (400 is the lowest on mine) and adjust the temp depending on how much shrinkage I want. If you don’t have that option then washing on the wool/silk program does the same job although often no warmer than 40C.
Looks like it went well though, unless your infinitely better half flipped because of the towel… [emoji51]
