Naked & Famous

In my experience N&F heavyweight denims are some of the most unforgiving and brutal break ins. I suppose it shouldn't be surprising as a denim of that weight selling for around $200 is not going to be made of the most supple of material. A heavyweight broken twill definitely had me intrigued but I can confidently say the 6's would be unpleasant for a solid 30 days + worth of wear.
The cuts on the 6's are also really odd. My size would be an 11.75" thigh and a 6" leg opening for the easy guy fit. And also agreed that a 32" inseam across the board doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

Maybe someday they will figure out how to accommodate all body types

Heddels are reporting that Naked & Famous are doing an Elephant Denim jacket to complete the tux. :o

the 32" inseam is has to be a cost cutting measure. N&F stuff always goes on clearance somewhere so maybe they figured since this will inevitably happen they might as well cut their losses.

It's my birthday and someone kindly bought me a pair of Naked and Famous Elephant 6 jeans. They winging their way to Gosport to get hemmed.
They are stiff as a board, but I do like broken twill jeans. I have a pair of Nudie Slim Jims which are my favourite jeans. (I've not bought a pair of Ironheart's yet - they are on my wishlist).
I'll let you know how I get on with them.
-
IDK if I will ever wear these. But I just got a pair of these from Blue Owl. The denim and the patch look pretty cool. I don't have any good fitting black jeans. So I might wear them. Otherwise they are pretty neat.
-
I'm particularly keen on the variations of the black denim.
-
That is some lovely texture on those.
-
I might not wear mine because they are on the verge of being too cheesy. Actually I love my overalls so much I doubt I will ever be able to wear anything else for long. Unless G makes an 888 25oz XHS with a zipper fly. Then I might get those grafted onto my legs.

As a diehard fan of street fighter franchise I really wanna like these but I can’t get into the aesthetic. And the akuma pair is mad expensive for novelty denim imo

From the pics it looks very textured and nice looking denim. I will be able to properly judge once I get hold of it. Price wise they do seem on high side compared to their other higher weight offerings (those that are not made in japan).
But yea they a novelty jean made for the gamer nerd

So I got the Akumas from Blue Owl. Very speedy shipping and order processing by them. So kudos to them.
My initial impression of them is, "wow, these are very loud, and extremely mediocre!" The denim feels very thin. It's comparable to the 11.5 oz denim Iron Heart used in the lightweight CPO, or the 13 oz cone mills black seed denim from the Roy Peanuts. Only the denim has these thickness variations in the weft, like they have used irregularly spun yarns. I'll admit the denim has lots of character, and almost looks like shark skin.
These don't appear to be chainstitched either. I'm no denim guru or anything. But the heft of the sewing is different than any raw denim brand I've owned.
I haven't noticed any major irregularities in the sewing, other than the leather patch is sewn on with very thin gauge thread and is very sloppy, and they sewed the inside tag on upside down. I have to see if this is a manufacturing defect or if it was intentional.
Some things I like about them are the Street Fighter Alpha 3 image of Akuma printed on the pocket. That was cool. And the image on the patch is cool too. The tag on the back pocket is printed foil that is awesome as well.
I'm sure you guys realize that I am completely obsessed with Iron Heart jeans and clothes. But occasionally I will find something from another brand I really appreciate (like Rogue Territory shirts and PBJ bandanas, and TFH wallets are awesome). This was not the case with these and I am immensely disappointed. These were $100- $150 less than a pair of Iron Heart… But I guess that is what the difference in the standards of that Haraki and Giles have and what $100 will net you in the difference in craftsmanship and quality of materials. I see a lot of guys bitch about the price of Iron Heart and they try to insinuate that it somehow is not worth it. But I think the difference in quality speaks for itself.
I don't know if I will even try these on and will probably will just return them. I guess the denim is kind of fancy. But these are mass-produced strip mall quality jeans. 5/10

So yeah mine do actually have a manufacturing defect. My patch is sewn upside down. Here is a Blue Owl stock image.

Going from Iron Heart (or most Japanese brands) to N&F is very likely to be a disappointment. It’s a complete different league (and also a different target audience).
-
I have to admit the idea of 32oz denim has always intrigued me, but apart from that the whole concept of N&F just does nothing for me. That their production standards can be as poor as this means I'm now thoroughly uninterested in them.
Perhaps @formulapfaff will be kind enough to post up some pics of his 32oz Black Fade to Greys…
He may be a bit busy buggering off in Japan this week, however [emoji23]

He’s wearing the 32oz “SBG-ish” jeans here:

Maybe a more apt comparison would be Burgus Plus..? Nevertheless, I agree with the last two points above. And furthermore I’ve found Burgus Plus garments to be of great quality, especially for the price. This shit seems entirely built on ‘nerdsumerism’ [emoji851]
