XL IH jacket world tour - interest check
-
Ok guys, I'll let the poll run out but it looks fairly conclusive. If we go for the OD Lefty then we wait for measurements, take the size nearest to, and not smaller than, the XL SBG and go from there. @Alex can publish actual measurements of the chosen jacket and those that have expressed an interest and still want in, are in.
-
What's the issue?
If the OD measurements of a tag size XL come out smaller (highly likely, because in the interests of not making a sample I just asked Tom to chuck the normal IH-526L in the overdyer) than they should, and a tag size XXL is closer to a normal XL, I trust that Neph will be able to work out how to resolve this amazingly complex conundrum….
-
You do?
I'm not sure that confidence is warranted.

Of course, upon reflection, you are right…..
Thanks for the (quickly retracted) vote of confidence @Giles @Chris, it's a relief to have a voice of reason around here, even if that voice has a somewhat nasal, mid western quality to it
Over 20 votes and a resounding victory for the new Od'ed lefty trucker means we wait for it to arrive at IHUK, get measurements and pick a size that is close to a typical XL. When measurements are published everyone who it works for commits with the necessary USD and we get things going.
Thanks for all the interest guys. Good to see so many regulars wanting to get in on the action. This should be great fun.

stoked to see pics of the evo - od lefty denim sounds great!

Ballin!
Plus, no better way to assist @Giles in selling out the ODL in record time than having a group of middle aged dudes (myself included by the time it arrives…) posting pics of it everyday!

I’m interested. In the UK, great idea
PS: once the tour is over maybe it can be raffled or sent to the Jeans Museum?

I’d be down to give this a try. I live a pretty boring life though, so my pictures would be “meh”.

That’s how it is for me too. I don’t think anybody really cares. I like to think I am helping the good contributions stand out even more. [emoji41]

The point is that your boring maybe someone elses exciting…..
I was smoking a fairly average cigar in Yacata, Fiji. One of the locals islanders came up to me and stared at the cigar with an open mouth for at least 30 seconds or so and then said "I saw one of those in a film once".......

I think the whole point of a WT is to share the daily minutiae of our lives, to bring your fellow tour participants into your every day grind. Personally I find great interest in the most seemingly mundane details, the big flashy stuff becomes like watching a fireworks display that goes on too long, whereas the reality of a persons existence will always hold my interest

Both of you present beautiful, valid points. My take on it is that I get to participate in a weird version of “the sisterhood of the traveling pants” and wear a garment for a while that I otherwise wouldn’t have. I’m not a big fan of sharing my minutiae on the internet, but I do enjoy seeing evolving IH gear on different people in different places. I think (hope) both takes are fine.
