One of my fav 2017 releases together with WITTR, Mastodon, Clandestine Blaze, new Paysage D Hiver Track (Schnee 4)… -
I liked them between 1967-1970. Actually saw their first show in NYC. It was billed as a battle of the bands,Greenwich Village vs Haight Ashbury. It was in The Village Theatre which would,later, become The Fillmore East.
That's really great! I'm a bit younger and probably would have been just barely old enough to catch some of their last shows, but a big fan just the same.

@HGS:
I'd say 2017 has been the year of the comeback whether it be the likes of Slowdive
Slowdive's album is one of my favourites this year
@alex it's like they had never had that 23 year hiatus.
Definitely. I am kicking myself for not seeing them when they came to Boston last month.
I saw them at the Camden Roundhouse London on Halloween. I did actually well up. They were incredible

That said, my most disappointing gig was Sun Kil Moon at the Shepherds Bush Empire. I love all of Mark's work but he lost the plot and it turned in to a self indulgent cringefest

I was sooo upset when my parents wouldn't let 16-year old me go to a Dead show in 1995. It was a month before Jerry died, too.
Major bummer! The music still lives on though, both in past recordings and current tours with new members.

For any hip hoppers into Dre, this is brilliant.

Attempting to get tickets for Jawbreaker today :-\

Apparently Tool's new album is coming out this year. I'll believe it when I see it, but I'm pretty excited.
I think they've said that for about the last 3 years. But apparently Tom Morrello has listened to finished tracks (music only) so there is progress. I saw them last summer at the Gorge and they had a few teasers sprinkled in the set.
New APC album this year is confirmed though.

Such a good band and so influential in the early 90s. They helped shape the sound of post-hard-core even though Quicksand are the darlings of that legacy

I have Bi-polar Disorder. It's not always easy. Julian Baker will break your heart if you relate to that
