Easy drinking at 92 proof. They were outta my usual bourbon which is Rowan’s Creek. So I picked this up instead.
Rye whiskey aged in sherry casks

^interesting. I’m not a big fan of “finished” bourbon, but do think that ryes have an opportunity to benefit from a complexity standpoint.
Made some nostalgic purchases this weekend, Wild Turkey was my grandfathers regular drink. Unfortunately we never really got to share a glass, part of the cost of longer birth intervals (and moving away from extended family). The old grand dad has a high rye mashbill which is my preference. I was sick this weekend so no full tasting notes, but suffice to say it’s a full bodied experience.

Never had the michters rye but the bulleit is solid. I’d go with the higher proof. I like
The hot stuff though -
Thanks gents. Cost is irrelevant as this is Norway and they both cost about $80-90 a bottle.
I know very little about Rye and Bourbon as I mostly drink Scotch blends and single malt, but seeing as they both come recommended by you good people I’ll try them one after the other.

You’re right, it is what it is. On the plus side all those taxes pay for me to stay home with the kids at full pay for half a year.
You quite literally owe it to yourself

If you’re in the mood for a rye this is a damn good one. Although for my own taste I prefer a high rye bourbon to this, even at a somewhat lower price point.
