WESCO

The argument of reselling possibilities is strong, also they are cheaper than some regular retailed red wings…
I don't like dumping on RW's, they are in no way bad boots and perfectly serviceable in many situations, but the difference between RW and Wesco is about the same as the difference between Levi's and Iron Heart.

[/quoteI agree with you [url=https://www.ironheart.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=9518]@neph93 , but In my experience after purchasing wesco and Ironheart… well, let’s just say I don’t have any RW or Levi’s in my closet. on another note , has anyone pre-ordered the SandS engineer with the waxed green hide? Omg they look like they are going to be amazing. I’m kinda bummed cuz I saw the boot after I put my order in for a custom. And now the pic wesco just put on IG of the Horsehide. Good lord
I’m going to go broke. Wesco is killing it and also my pocket book. Those HH look a lot like what Brian is putting out without the year plus wait. Oh man , I might be single soon cuz my wife will be leaving me due to my habits. -
I just ordered some HH 10" regular toe Jobmasters with all Nickle eyelets. Just couldn't resist after seeing all those 100th Anniversary pic's.

Looking for some advice on sizing for Wesco Jobmasters in either the 9109 bump toe or standard 9165 last. I’m a size 10 in Viberg- 2045, 310, and 110 lasts. I’m also a 10E in White’s semi-dress/55 last. Kyle at Bakers is saying I should go for a 10 with Wesco, but I’m not so sure since I’ve read a lot of people go a half size up from Viberg/White’s. Any advice would be very much appreciated. BTW, I’m thinking of going with black oil tan leather so there shouldn’t be much stretch. Also, what width should I go with?

I wear a size 10D in all three brands. Some minor distances in fit, but not enough to warrant a change in size.

Thanks guys. I’m a 10.5 brannock with a high instep and long toes. I feel I’m somewhat in between sizes like between a 10E and 10.5D/10.5E. I like the length the Viberg 10 has but the White’s 10E is shorter than I’m used to. My foot length differs between sitting and standing. When wearing boots without a lot of arch support like Viberg 110s, my feet will flatten somewhat and my toes will approach towards the end of the toe box. This doesn’t really happen on my White’s due to the substantial arch support. I’m also a 10E in Alden Trubalance and Barrie. Does this make sense? Anybody else have this issue?

Good information. Thanks.
I believe those 3-CTs are on what Viberg calls their “workboot last”, the 160.
I actually find the arch support in White’s to be a little much due to my gait tending to walk on the outside of my foot. I prefer the rigidity of the metal shank on Viberg, where it provides support without being overbearing. The metal shank is the reason for my interest in Wescos. I’m thinking of a 10” black oil tan double midsole Jobmaster, with packer upper stitching on the Vibram 100 sole. The Jobmaster config. with packer upper stitching is called the Warren boot. Is that correct?

Great. Thanks for the correction. It really helps. That old leather in the top pic is such a great color. Do you have any details on that leather? Can they ever bring that back somehow?

Is it not the Burgundy Domain?
-
Saw that pic a few weeks ago on this forum. BTW, how long has Wesco been using domaine?
Here’s what Giles said about it in 2014.
“Bottom. Jobmaster #9165 last. It's an old boot as Wesco have not used that logo or that leather for an age”
-
Yeah. I’m sure you guys are right and it probably is domain leather. Could be the lighting or something but the color looks in between brown and burgundy to me.
Agree with you on the British tan domain. It looks fantastic.
