The measurements do look great on the 633 18oz vintage. I was really hoping they wouldn't.

I agree, although it’s a patch that will be covered by a belt most of the time.

I was just gifted a pair of the 633s that has maybe 10 wears, can't wait to wear them

Result, great pair of jeans. Post pics in this thread when you get an opportunity as we'd love to see you wearing them.

Just tried them on and they're the same size as my last 633s (size 33) and they're huge on me… Did the measurements change from say 2-3 years ago to now?

@patrickcassidy23 same 21oz denim on both pairs? If not that could explain it, but it isn't unusual with variations both within and between runs. Plus SE could have specced a tweak.

Thanks! Soaked them in hot water, they should shrink to the original measurements.
-
@Fadez those look great! The 21oz denim fades so beautifully.

Decided to wash my pair for the 1st time using a machine. They’ve been hand washed once. And amount of wear is maybe 6 months total. Off and on for about a year. It’s an American top loader so I guess it’s kinda harsh. I’ve noticed after drying, they seem to have “patchy” fading. Also, some noticeable lines. Any ideas what happened here? I hope the pictures can show what I’m talking about. I’m wondering if the washer caused this I washed them in cold, inside out, and no spin. I feel the washer created this Is this just the way my pair decided to fade or what? @Giles , do you have an expert opinion?
Thanks!

I can see a little bit of marbling (lines) over the right knee but it doesn’t look bad at all. That can happen, but it’s unusual on the standard 21oz and flipping them and cutting out the rpm’s should limit it. I hear bad things about these top loading washing machines in the US though.
They still look like a really nice pair to me. Just wear the crap out of them and it’ll blend in after a while.

From what you wrote I’d say it was the washing machine. I’ve never had problems with the 21oz denim. Not even at high temps and spin. The only time I’ve had marbling is with the 25oz XHS, but that was because I washed it too hard (too much spin) and didn’t soak the jeans first. The result was creases, abrasion lined and marbling. I just wore the crap out of them and they look good now. But now I also soak all my denim before washing just in case. I use a European front loader and the general understanding is that they are more gentle.
