The Iron Heart Forum Triangle of Terror Type III Trucker Tour 2018 - Updates thread

I've been wearing every day it needed a wash after the first week but I had to see how it held up. I'll line dry it

The light in the background of the bottom photo is from the arcing of electrodes in the liquid steel. The electrodes send spidery arcs across the surface of the steel eerie and beautiful. At the center of the arc the temp is said to reach 10,000F. Since any measuring device would be vaporized I don't know how they arrive at this number. The crane at the furnace is waiting to tap.
-
Furnace tap. The furnace operator is leaning over the railing at center. I'd put an arrow but I lack computer skills. Tap temperature is about 3,000F. They can accurately measure that temp. Liquid weight is about 175 tons. Total weight about 275 tons.

So I threw it in the wash and I'm hoping for the best. A front loader warm cycle no spin. It's black so even if I can't get it clean no one will know for years heh heh.
I should have thought about how to do this so there would be a line that you could follow from start to finish but, hey. I should have listened to Mom and stayed in school. That's her on the right whooping it up with her pals back in the day. Love the do, Ma. Look at that face. Butter wouldn't melt. No wonder I turned out like I did.
So that's it. I'm going to line dry and hope most of the crap washes out.
Thanks a lot for the thoughts and comments they made me look at what I do with different eyes and made me think .If this isn't the best forum out there- show me one that's better. -
^^^^^^so that’s what the inside of a volcano looks like
