Love the updates @Aetas The cottage is similar to houses in Pa. where many Germans settled. Manheim(hey, guess they didn't like the original spelling) Strasburg are nearby towns.

I had to replace one of my longstanding cooperation bikes. Has been used at least on training role for the last 10 years, seen much blood, sweat and tears over the last 25 years…. but this bike is another story.
Talked to a colleague and he offered me a cycle of his father, hand build 17 years ago and not used for over 15 years.
Flat tires, dust and corrosion for only the first sight.
A few hours later with some cleaning and inspection it turned out to be beautiful and incredible rare.
Handmade frame from KRABO-Krautscheid Bochum with Campagnolo parts.
Did not like the handlebar and seat, but they are very comfortable. Unsure if I should replace them.
It is a fast Touring bicycle. Now I need another bike for the training role ::) ;)…. and a bike from the son of Mr. Krautscheid. He is doing the same job in the same town, but with more modern ergonomics and survey -Krautscheid jr.
