Random Love (anti-rants)

I must add that today, even more importantly than the up coming hurricane, is remembrance of the 9/11 tragedy. I lost a very good friend that was a Port Authority Police officer that perished at the World Trade Center.

I’m sorry for your loss Sam. I can’t believe it’s been 17 years.
Here’s a link to a video about the Boat evacuation that took place that’s day. He largest sea evacuation in world history. Bigger than Dunkirk

^ That's an interesting story. My friend was a team of 5 that was trying to rescue a non ambulatory women from the North Tower. He was part of a team of 5 trying to rescue a woman from the 29th floor of the North Tower. They were found at the end.

I’m sorry @ROman . That’s heart breaking. I still have trouble watching anything about that day. Everybody does I’d imagine.

This weekend, Brandi's and my immediate families are coming to town and we are celebrating our union with a wedding ceremony in the Garden of the Gods. Managed to find a sort of natural chapel there among the rock formations.
With all the negativity in the world (including that that I feel and express) I am overdue to express some anti-rant. I desperately love my soulmate and look forward to the rest of our life together.

@mclaincausey My man, my fellow cocktailian rascal, let me say congratulations. A true congratulations.
Committing to something like this is surely challenging, no lie. But kids or no, a good partner in life is invaluable. Even if, like many others here, you need little help navigating life, someone to keep you grounded and call you on your sh*t is a godsend. May your relationship be fun and tough and inspiring and everything that a worthwhile endeavor should be.
Now back to the cocktails…

Thanks much!! I have a decent stock of booze, probably gonna get started soon!
The deed is done!

I realized middle of a couple of weeks ago that I hadn't seen my Iron Heart indigo hoodie for a while. Eventually figured out that I wore it out to a friend's birthday concert and must have lost it at the music venue. Went down the the venue and checked the lost and found–no luck. Beyond being the ultimate layering garment, appropriate under so many conditions out here in Denver, this garment was one of those things that had gone through so much with me that it felt like an irreplaceable personal item. Then there's the scarcity of the garment--not sure they will ever dip more hoo
One of my lady friends asked me a few days later if I was missing a hoodie, and in a flood, everything came back to me--it was cold that night and I'd let her wear the hoodie, and we shared an Uber home since she lives around the corner--I never got it back from her.
Last Saturday I picked it up. It's a little embarrassing to be this happy about a garment being back in my life.
