Filson

Picked up a twill mesh back hat from Filson yesterday. The storefront was tiny, especially since it’s the flagship store and not the outlet. They had 4 staffers on hand which seemed like overkill for a small shop.
It’s weird to me how some of their stuff is MiUSA and others are not. Their shirts are freaking huge. I could probably fit into a small even though I usually wear large. Kinda liked their vests but need to try before I buy.

Noticed something funny, if you check Filson’s IG feed their posts always seem inundated with smart ass comments about whatever random person wearing a $400 outfit and being a hipster. they’d hate us over here [emoji23]

I have shirts and jackets by filson, by far after doing a lot research my favorite winter down parka is Filson’s , is got everything you need, I travel to Spain and Scottland during X’mas and I live in NY where the winters are cold and this jacket after I tried multiple (drove my lady nuts) Parkas is the very best. The hood comes with a wool liner that keeps you very cozy and dry and the paker is not very bulky or heavy but the down is excellent and warm.

Got my Filson duffel and a cord logger mesh back hat. The hat is MiUSA of imported materials and the duffel is made who knows where. Couldn’t find a tag inside and the outer hang tag says nothing. Likely made overseas. The cord hat is exactly what I’d like to see IH make

The only clothing I own by Filson are 2 Cascade shirts, a tin cloth cruiser and the 2 hats I posted. I hesitate buying more of their clothing because of the weird sizing (everything is HUGE). I will say though that they do have some new henleys on their site that look nice, but i'd have to stop by my local Filson store and try them on before committing to a purchase.

Totally agree on the sizing comment. Its weird because I've got a few shirts that are pretty old and sizing seems somewhat more normal. Last fall I picked up a shirt jacket and got L thinking it would be spot on. It was HUGE so back it went.
This Henley looks pretty sweet and im thinking ill size down and should be g2g. Thanks for the imput too[emoji482]

My cascade shirts from a couple of years ago are their Seattle fit, which was intended to be their slimmer fit, but they were still big on me when I bought them. I went down to a medium and they did shrink up a little and now fit me pretty well. Fit aside, I dislike that their shirts are made in Portugal. It's strange. The 2 hats I posted pics of are made in 2 different places - the brown corduroy logger hat is MiUSA and the navy twill hat is made in Vietnam or some such thing.

Filson Tin Cloth Cruiser Jacket - Cheers @Brock

I agree with the sizing for shirts/jackets. I have some shirts I hardly wear (short arms, huge chest even in size L, and I normally wear xl to xxl), but a black mackinaw vest that gets a lot of wear, and occasionally wear my blue/black Mackinaw cruiser (again: body too wide, arms too short and wide open below).
What gets a lot of wear is caps. Picture below shows my favorite on the left in tin cloth (but got eaten by a hand-luggage security scanner at Frankfurt Airport.. now has black marks all over it).. The red cap is a bit too MAGA and has a too steep profile for my liking. -
Filson X Levi's trucker jacket!

Too good to not be shared , this is such an iconic item. Found this on swedish auction site Tradera. Seen these on Ebay for like 5-800 USD. Unfortunately it's to small for me , 49cm p2p according to seller. Only shipping within Sweden though.
Could be a bargain, or not...Br

Hahaha I have a big head, I just received my XL Papa nui x Filson hat. It looked like I had a baby hat on. I will stick with hoods

I’ve been a huge Filson fanboy for many years. I find it increasingly difficult to shop there anymore though. Pretty much everything is now made overseas and still commands a premium price. I will continue to enjoy my made in USA items like the tin cruiser and mackinaw cruiser but probably won’t shop there anymore. It’s a shame. But… it’s more Iron Heart bucks now

I’m also generally a fan of filson but every now and then you get crap like this. I’m still trying to get this refunded but the customer service hasn’t been great either.

Yeah, product and service have been steadily declining for 10 years since the takeover.
Comparing a 15 year Tin Cruiser compared to a recent one you think they are from different planets. Now they stopped making them. Same with Red Wing boots and so many others.
Just happy that IH continues to do what they do.
