IH-526Lod - 19oz Left-Hand Twill Selvedge Denim Type III - Indigo Overdyed Black
-
I love this jacket so much that I'm legitimately considering buying a second one to replace this one when it inevitably dies in 30+ yrs. As @Jordonf9 has said, it really softens up to an almost velvety hand. And the fades are amazing, too. If IH ever decides to do the 19L in, say a 777 OD (hint, hint), I'd instabuy a couple pair.

Well… sure enough, they didn't hang around too long. L, XL, and XXL all sold out less than 24 hours later.

Even more surprising that no vendors picked this up

I guess some more vendors may pick it up if they realise what a hot-ticket item it is. But then… I guess there's a limit to how many of the really popular (or maybe 'specialised') items can be produced and kept available anyways. As I understand it, these clothes are made in very specific ways from fabric produced on very specific pieces of old, finite equipment. I don't know if the factories are being run on a round-the-clock model... but if they already are, then... what else are ya gonna do, right? Also, if the business model is working and people are working and demand is high, maybe there's no real need to expand just for the purpose of expanding. Just some ponderings...

Some fairly accurate ponderings there. Haraki-san’s fabric designs are notoriously difficult to make, not least to his and Tom-san’s exacting standards. This takes time. Indigo dying takes time and overdying takes time. The od’ed denim can’t just be churned out which is why od’ed gear is often thin on the ground.
There are huge issues of economics of scale and logistical difficulties with the factories that produce IH gear that are really very complex. It’s a works like a finely balanced eco system and disruptions cause problems all the way along the chain. Giles sometimes discusses it here and it’s fascinating stuff.

Received mine today and am impressed. Noticeably more substantial than the 14od, but not as stiff or difficult to button as the 21oz ones I have. Much more like the 18oz, as you'd expect, so an excellent mid-weight all-rounder (if 19oz can be considered mid-weight. Maybe in IH-land, but nowhere else).
I plan to give this some hammer for a few months at least, so we'll see how it develops.

Mine just showed up and I couldn’t be happier, totally thrilled is more like it.My first IH denim jacket and by far and away the best one I’ve ever had. Glad I went with the 4X,as the fit is great, can wear it with a t-shirt or layer a sweatshirt underneath. I’ll try and get some pics up soon. Love the Overdye.

Looking forward to pics, guys

Mine also turned up today. My second ever Type III after the IHJ-46 I bought last year. Thought the 17oz Duck was sturdy but this like armour plating. Looking forward to wearing this as far into the summer as I can…...a simply amazing Jacket. Told my young son he'll be inheriting this one day but he didn't seem very impressed and went back to watching the football.

Also got mine today! First ever Type III, and it feels tailor-freakin'-made for me. Love it. Nice and fitted with a T-shirt, but can still squeeze a hoodie underneath. The little extra bit of length is also nice for these environs, but without feeling so long that it loses its Type-III-ness. Winner, winner, veggie-burger dinner.
For reference, I'm 5'10", right around a 42 1/2" chest, and I got an XL.
My idea of pimping

Interesting that the buttons don’t appear to have the od treatment.
