Hello from the SF Bay Area!
Got bit by the raw denim bug 14 years ago - and have worn countless pairs to hell and back, but fell in love with my first pair of IH (301, 21oz) back in 2013 when I lived a couple blocks away from Self Edge [emoji28].
Looking to get back into the swing of things, this time with some straight leg cuts…

Hello!
Welp, this is the first forum I've ever joined. It was so very helpful to see/hear from IH customers during my purchase process, and I'm happy to say I'm 3 days in to a wonderfully painful pair of 25oz jeans I also got an IH 18oz CPO shirt, which ROCKS! I really wanted the type II jacket as well. I ordered it based mostly on it having the right sleeve length for me, but it ended up also being quite large in the body. I took the plunge(literally), and did a hot soak with some agitation in order to shrink the body down as much as possible. Quite risky, since now I'm unable to return, but I suppose I can probably sell it. Anyway. I've got a lot to learn about the jacket sizing and how denim reacts. All in all, a great experience! HUGE thanks to all the fantastic IH staff that answered a million questions for me along the way

Been poking around a bit asking questions, posting pics, etc and realized I never introduced myself. I can hear my mother saying "How Rude!"
Real name is Ryan. Been lurking for a bit, before posting. Got into raw denim about two years ago. I always was a T-shirt and jeans guy, but never knew there was a culture around it!
Grew up skate punk/metal as a skater and snowboarder, so that influences my choice in clothes.
Live in the US on the east coast north of NYC.
Bought a bunch of Gustin jeans I am trying to wear out to get to my first pair of new IH bottoms (I did buy some pre-worn beatle busters off of the forum and love them; probably will by some more before going new).
I have 3 IH jackets: IHJ 72, my first Type 2 (and first purchase from IH UK) and Love it! And the 9526 J (bought of off the forum) and PJ (bought from Mildblend). The 9526 fabric just looks awesome in so many settings!
My next purchase will be some kind of denim shirt, but need to let the books balance a bit!
Thanks for all of the help and support so far! This forum is great! IH UK customer support is amazing. The gear is just beyond awesome.
Looking forward to learning more about and connecting with you all.
Ryan

Cool. The more skaters and snowboarders around here, the better!

I haven't skated in years But, I still appreciate skate culture. I'd likely crack my skull open or break a limb if I attempted to skate at my age.

Me too… Still snowboard though... I guess the snow is a little softer, although I'm an ice coast (aka east coast) guy.

Dear all.
And thank you for accepting me, on this forum.
My actual name is Jody, and have been wearing the US made, Levi's LVC range 1880-1937 for a while now.
I knew about Iron Heart Jean's, but only recently, have decided to invest in some real hardcore Japanese denim. So my recent purchases are the - IH-666S jean's, Indigo 12oz Wabash Western shirt, and have also ordered the Indigo 18oz Selvedge Denim 1946 Type Rider's Jacket.
Also I would like to greatly thank, both Alex and Chesson, for their expert advice, given to me

Hi Jody and welcome. That is some absolute classic gear you’ve started with. Look forward to hearing your opinions and what you are looking to pick up next. -
Hello neph93.
I am not used to these heavyweights, it was all rather exhausting, trying to get on the 666s, and a pleasure taking them off, I'm sure I'll get used to it
The Wabash shirt is a awesome fit, and I can not wait to try on the 1946 Rider's jacket, when it arrives tomorrow.
