Incredible performance, but I really cannot stand Fabinho.
His dive against Newcastle to win the free kick which resulted in them winning the game was absurd.

@Dion I understand that, and the media hype, advertising and marketing is all geared to making it huge in a global market. RM, Barca, the Milan clubs, Juve, PSG, BM as well as Man Ure, LFC etc are all global brands so pitching them against each other and sending it around the world is a no-brainer. It is a great competition and I’m thoroughly enjoying Liverpool being a force in Europe again.
But it is still a cup competition and in terms of proving the quality of a team, that will always be inferior to a league format. It is also a cup competition with rules that heavily favour the biggest clubs to ensure marketable spectacles in the final rounds. The way it is curated by UEFA means it is, if not rigged, then at least affected, impure even.
Winning the EPL has never been easy and at the moment it is insanely hard. The history of LFC makes it even more attractive. Shanks himself described it as «bread and butter». It is the true measure of the standard of a team.

I think Matt Ritchie’s thumb brushed his lower back, so obviously an excuse to go down like you’ve been suplexed.

Damn, it is really heartbreaking to see Liverpool not finish first after such an amazing season. Who would've thought that 97 points won't be enough? It's crazy. I'm rooting for them to secure the CL title at any rate.
As a side note: (another) horrible season by United, gaping 32 (!!!) points to the top.

Agreed. Those 97 points would have won the premier league title in every year of it's existence other than 2 which are the last two seasons man city took the title.
United is a complete fucking disgrace right now. I don't even know where to begin….

As a life long fan of the team and supporter of the club, I’m strangely happy. It has been out of our hands for a few weeks now and I didn't really expect anything other than City winning their remaining games. I'm so pleased that we pressed them all the way though. That is impressive. At the end of the day, I'd also rather we finished second as LFC than finish first as Man City, if you see what I mean.
The CL final is great and I'm looking forward to it, but what makes me happiest is that I feel like we're back for real. Two CL finals on the trot, the best 2nd place finish ever and the ability to turn over Barcelona. Add to that a team spirit and a connection with the fans that harks back to the 80's (with all respect to Houllier and Rafa who were also wonderful managers), and the future is very bright indeed.

watching the game last night was beyond embarassing…
I captained Rashford on fpl ::) thinking surely they want to go out on a high.
Still broke 2300 points for the season, finishing around 25k. Decent.
how the feck do you get 2300!! i barely got near 2000.. highest between mates is 2244 and i'm on 1931

Liverpool and City should be an example to Man United on how to recruit properly. Don't just buy any player because your rivals are looking at them.
Bernado Silva for around 40m and Sadio Mane for 34m have to buy the top bargains of the decade.. especially when you consider Utd forked out 50m for Fred

Black day for the Bayern hater. Of course the arrogant bastards won it (the German league championship) again, after having been second to Borussia Dortmund for most of the season. Seriously annoying.

the whole game was overshadowed by political unrest. especially for miki and the fans… i don't think having it there brought out the best for arsenal..
