IH-555-03 - 21oz Selvedge Denim Super Slim Jeans - Superblack (Fades To Grey)

It’s dangerous having a local shop (The Stockist) that sells IH. I would have never thought the fit on these would work. I’ve gained a bit of weight since getting married this year and these fit great. Post soak fit pics tomorrow.

Recently lost a good 20# and am looking at a new pair.
I’ve always admired the SBG but not sure how this fit would work for me.
I haven’t much of a bum and I’m not much of a fan of a larger rear rise since there isn’t much to fill it in.
I’m looking at a 31 or 32. If I’m not filling out my 777s lower rear rise…are the 5s going to drive me crazy?
Cheers

The 555 have a considerably higher front and back rise than the 777 but you could try to size down to avoid any diaper butt issues. As the 555 run usually larger than their tag size compare their measurements with your pair of 777 and pick the closest.
Eyh. That’s what I was thinking. Unfortunately the rear rise on the 5s sized down is still a solid inch longer than my current size 72. Bummer.

Bear in mind that these will shrink, although I concede this may not be for you… on the other hand:
The cut and the fabric are pretty popular so there might be a chance.
I think there is a very good chance and my educated guess would be it is a question of when, not if… There was a suggestion a while back that every major fit should be available in every major denim. If I remember correctly that meant the 634, 666, 555, 777 and 888 in the 14oz and 21oz (indigo and od), and the SBG (the XHS still being considered specialist because of the process and expense of making it).

Got a pair of these around new year and the fit was really badly off from the start, mostly due to the combination of highish rise and large waist for the tag size. I briefly considered my options but quickly faced the facts and ended up doing the only sensible thing.
Looking back, I’m really glad I decided to get (further) out of shape as there’s nothing like a few layers of belly fat to fill up the waistline on highish rise jeans! The fit is now much better and I wear these to work on most days when I can get away with it.

GTPIn my opinion, absolutely.

Our suggestion was as above, but I am pretty sure we did not include SBG probably because we sampled the 634 cut in it and got zero interest from retailers (the good news is, that soon, we will be large enough not to need retailer orders to make up the numbers for required minimums).
Subsequent to that announcement, we also added the 14oz indigo/black and black/black to the list denims available in all popular cuts.

There has been a 777SBG (a collabo with a former retailer) and maybe G decides to release it again for IHUK in the future? The cut and the fabric are pretty popular so there might be a chance.
The 777 V&S collab's fit was bad, in our opinion, so we have fixed it to be in line with normal 777 cuts and will be releasing it as a three-way collab with two US-based retailers soon

well, shit, now I'm gonna have to have two 777SBGs to fade. I don't hate the fit on the V&S, but they are hella long–not terrible since I'm 6'4", but still looooong. More stacks for me, I guess. Looking forward to the new version now.
