Surprising they had two previous owners before I got them; they were nearly mint condition! I really like the tough & thick but supple feel of the oil tan leather.

The boots that keep on giving!!!
I will admit, I am OCD about how boots are kept so they were thoroughly cleaned, brushed, and sprayed before my use, and then brushed before sending your way

^^^ Yeah those are real nice…

I ended up ripping out the arch support in my Vibergs. Even after months of wear they were still uncomfortable and the arch support was too narrow so my foot would fall over the edge of it and into the gap between the sole and the upper leather.
I got these sheepskin and foam insoles from ebay but they were too thick in the toe box… so the boot was too tight. But I squished the foam flat to a taper with my plywood and clamps. I used a long pipe to get enough mechanical advantage to get the clamps tight enough. I was going to use a bottle jack press to squeeze it even more. But this worked great.
I sized the insoles up one size and got extra wide and then cut the front down a tad to fit the toe box. I used cardboard to male a template to get the fit just right. I left the area near the arch and heel uncut so it is extra wide. Now the boots are much more comfortable now.
I am very happy with how they feel now. You can still feel the heel. But now that the insole is flat, they are so much better.

I’m a 9D in RW Iron Rangers…I have an opportunity to purchase some natural CXL service boots in either 8.5 or 9, and I’ve received advice to size down to the 8.5 to account for the extra width of the 2030, AND I’ve had others say to go with a 9 (sigh). I’ll be ordering from Canada, so I’d love to get it right the first time...for those of you that own 2030s and Iron Rangers, what is your sizing recommendation?
Oh, and I am a 9 in the narrower 2050-lasted Chelsea boot.

I'm sure everyone thinks I am flaky for tearing up my shoes. But I just wanted to show you how much wider my feet are than the profile of the shoe…
My shoes are still a little snug with the insoles so I am stretching them out a bit.
And you can see an indentation of the sole into the foam.
My foot is every bit as wide as this insole is.
Even though they are snug now, they are so much more comfortable with the new insoles and no arch support.

Was lucky to find these a few years ago. Epic rare boot in my opinion, I have Viberg horsebutt service boots as well (see lots of service boots), but this was a unique find, and love the fact I've never seen another pair in the wild.
I've received countless questions and compliments about these boots.
This is a pair of Viberg Black Waxed Flesh Country Derby boots…like all exceptional boots, they absolutely feel great to wear even at 2lbs a boot!
Sorry for the crappy pic....
