I’ve sworn off fags until next summer and beer for a week after my party weekend. The fags are no sweat, but I’ve just dropped £1000 on root canal work after a 2 hour 30 min session at the dentists. I was told it would be £400. There will be beer tonight.
Ooh! A punch to the wallet, and the mouth! Ouch! I'd be lining up the beers, as well. Take care, my friend.

Yikes. £1000 for a root canal?
Coincidentally, I chipped a molar a few weeks back eating a pistachio and will have to get a crown which is gonna set me back $500+.

It was a bit more complicated than that. It was a job done poorly about 13 years ago that he had to open it up, and clean out. There was quite a lot of crap there that shouldn’t have been. Add a CT scan into the equation and off you go. Also, this is Norway.
Anyhoo, shit happens, I’m not dwelling on it. Onwards and upwards.

Apologies in advance for the thread rot. Especially as I didn’t even drink the beer last night.
Dental work doesn’t come under our impressive welfare state system after the age of 18 so what I paid was full price. That the price was around the lower middle end of the range you quote is a pleasant surprise, in as far as having to pay someone for spending two hours in your mouth with power tools can ever be described as pleasant.
Beer on Friday, I promise.
